Lexington Catholic and Fayette schools to resume scheduling

Dr. Angelucci was named president of the school last year. The 'boycott' issue was very concerning to him from the beginning since he was a former student of the school and has roots in the community.

He and Stu Silberman, with the support of many from both school systems have worked to bring the schools and community together on this tough issue.

Glad to see this.

I'd really love to know what if any concessions LexCath made.

Why do you think LexCath had to make any concessions and if they did make any, what is your opinions of what they were?

Because from the way the Lexington public schools had dug in a vilified LexCath I can't imagine them just suddenly changing their minds without some concessions from LexCath. To be honest I'm not familiar enough with the issues that precipitated the boycott in the minds of the Lexington public schools to know what they felt needed to change.

I wonder if this will just be related to LexCath or to all private schools since the Lexington schools had expanded the boycott to include all private schools.

From LHL:

Don Adkins, who oversees athletics for Fayette County's public high schools, said he doesn't know details of the agreement, only that Fayette County Superintendent Stu Silberman and Angelucci have been discussing the scheduling issue since last year.

Angelucci said he realized it was a "long-term, emotional, difficult story," but once he and Silberman started talking about it "at a direct level instead of innuendo and rumor ... the communication channels were positive, and a level of trust was there from the start, and just improved."

Why not let the public schools have a say in this issue rather than just communication with the President at Catholic and Silberman???

I would guess that Silberman being superintendent of public schools, they had some input.

I'm talking about the coaches in the public system getting some input here....Silberman hasn't been seen at a game in Lexington lately!!!

Well, since it's all schools in Lexington, wouldn't it make sense that one person represents them?

Still want a pound of flesh ?

The coaches have had input for the past 10 years and nothing has happened so I'm guessing that Angelucci and Silberman felt that hose had been beat enough.

I would love to hear Silberman again try to define "level playing field" (a favorite justification he inherited but never learned to explain) and Adkins assert, once again, that the "status quo" is in effect.
