She doesn't sit on her tush, basically, and have her wealth by inheriting it. She works hard and earns it and doesn't consider herself rich. Because she doesn't have money but goes out and earn it. So, why continue to work hard to have more of it taken from her.

Where people get frustrated is that while they're paying maybe 40% of their income in federal income taxes, others not only don't pay taxes, they get money back that they never paid in. Then scream that the 40% payer is not paying their fair share. How fair is 0?

I'd be willing to bet you got some breaks along the way being a single mother as well, I know my mom did as well as all the other single moms I've known over the years. Breaks? Well, I did have a woman who "adopted" my kids and helped me buy clothes for them. The same woman used to arrive at my doorstep with bags of groceries as well. No tuition aid, if that's what you mean. I "outgrew" EIC by the time my kids were in the 7th & 8th grade, so that negates that. And, again, no tuition aid. Even if I had, the MOST we could have gotten was 1/2. My daughter's Freshman year we were offered $300...on a Tuition over $4000. I worked two jobs. That did net me some breaks....lower cost health insurance and a free pound of coffee a week. My mom and dad kept us in fresh veggies too. Oh, and yes, when behind on tuition once, a very good friend loaned me the money to catch it up.

Did you not receive any child support? I don't know your situation so that's why I ask. My mom got very, very little back in those days. Your kids were raised like my two sisters and I were, single parent sending her kids to a Catholic school.
