What? Chad's going to keep TO in line? Forgive me if I find that hard to imagine. And I really like Chad, and compared to most can relatively stand TO. No one stops TO from being TO though, I don't care who he's friends with on the team.

 

I think he would be fine with Chad here. I think he'd accept his role as the #2 guy, and be fine with it. Like others have mentioned, I think this past year has really humbled TO. Of course, I'm probably the biggest Owens fan on the site, so I may be a tad bit biased.

The difference is with a guy like Chad on the team, I think it would keep TO in line. Those two are great friends, and I don't think he would act up if Chad was instrumental in bringing him to Cincy.

 

Also, wouldn't it be cool to have a starting WR duo named Chad OchoCinco and Terrell OchoUno?

Being a fan of the Bengals and TO has tainted your vision IMO. I'm neutral man. I like giving the Bengals fans a hard time, but I don't hate the team. I actually like TO. But, IMO to think Chad would be able to keep TO under control is a little laughable to me. T.O. has an ego that is unlike any other in sports. The Bengals will be lucky to keep Chad happy next season, let alone have Chad be the voice of reason to someone like T.O. If Jerry Rice, Garcia and McNabb couldn't do it, it is very unlikely Chad would be able to IMO. Tony Romo catered to Owens and the dude still wasn't happy. He's always going to cry and complain if he's not getting his touches and the team isn't winning every game.

Who is laughing? After watching and listening to many of the shows yesterday about the Bengals and the possibility of signing these guys. Not many of them were thinking it would be a bad move. As someone said if the Bengals win, then no body will be laughing at all. If the Bengals had came off a bad year this year and then tried to get these guys, then yeah the whole nation would be laughing. These moves could possibly help out the team, and no one is laughing about that.

You have to remember the years when the Bengals had talent at receiver, Palmer was much more than just average as you say. Yeah we shouldn't compare him to guys like Peyton, Brady, and Favre who did good with whoever they have. I mean that is a bad comparison because those guys probably are 3 of top 5 or 10 QB's of all time. Yeah Palmer probably won't ever be that. However put talent around Palmer like some of the other QB's like Brees, Rivers, Big Ben, Schaub, and you will see Palmer looking good just like them and having numbers like them. I mean those guys I just mentioned wouldn't be as good either without having talent to throw to. With the possibility of some of the additions the Bengals might be making, Palmer will have talent again to throw to. Which he has shown in the past, when he has that he is one of the best in the NFL.

I completely agree. Even Crosby showed some things last year. Adding a Matt Jones, and a TO to this group and all of a sudden they have a very good group at receiver. There definitely would be no excuses for Palmer and this offense to get going again then. :thumb:

Think about the argument I just made. I said when Palmer had talented guys to throw to like those guys, he was just as good as them and putting up numbers like them. Those guys you mentioned in Big Ben plays in an offense now that is more wide open and better receivers. He has a TE and the receivers. Brees has a TE and the receivers, and Rivers a TE and receivers. You put those guys on this Bengals team, and do you think they put up the same numbers they have been? You be way off base if you think that. Its pretty simple as I said unless you might be one of the best QB's of all time like the Mannings, Favres, and Brady's, then you would need talent to put up the numbers. Palmer when he had the talent at receiver was great and one of the best in the NFL. Even you have to admit that he really has no one at receiver except Chad and he is not as great as he once was. He has NO TE AT ALL, and no really receiving threats out of the backfield.

 

So that is not being bias at all. If you look at the whole thing, you can see what I am talking about. Those guys wouldn't be able to put up much numbers either in this offense that we had last year. However Palmer has already proven with talent to throw to, he also can put up the numbers. So what I said is not way off base at all. Give him talent like some of those other guys, and you will see his numbers go back up to what they once was and like those guys have now. It can't be way off base when it has already happened when he has had the talent.
