Actually, you get respect by scheduling and playing with/beating top 20 teams night in and night out.

 

Can't fault the kids but the coach certainly dropped the ball knowing what talent he had coming back by not scheduling some of the top teams in the state.

Justice wasn't even 80% for that game and neither was Hatfield I do believe. I'm not sure of the exact minutes they played but Booher said that he would take losing this game if it meant a health Elisha and Ashley come tournament time.

 

And the way you make it sound they lost by quite a few but actually they only lost by 3 points. Time to let go of the SV grudge.

I too wish SV had more top KY teams on the schedule, but we'll find out if he dropped the ball come tournament time. He already has a state tournament trophy in the case from this year. I guess we will have to wait and see what SV will do if they make it to the big one...

Agreed, but their last two wins in that tournament were against fairly solid clubs from University Heights and DeSales. But I agree that Shelby Valley's schedule leaves open a lot of room for questions that will have to be answered this postseason.

Both played the entire game so obviously they weren't that bad.

 

I have no grudge against SV. I've actually stuck up for them several times this year. Just stating facts that if SV played a legit schedule, they'd get more respect.

 

It's nothing against the kids, but as others have stated it all falls back on the coach and his inability to get his team and Mr. Basketball candidate, Elisha Justice, the exposure they need and deserve to be considered elite in KY.

Is the Valley favored to win their region?

 

Not sure if anyone answered you yet but they are 20 points better than anyone(in region) on a bad night.

On the game: It was never close. SV jumped out early and then cruised in for the victory Justice never really looked to score in the 2nd half and the team was really going through the motions. N laurel scored some buckets in the closing minutes to cut a 20 point game to 13.

 

SV's schedule: Its way to weak and IMO I dont see how anyone could argue otherwise. After Justice and Hatfields sophomore season everyone knew that SV had two really strong years ahead of them that they could actually compete on a state level and IMO Booher dropped the ball. He could have scheduled some home and homes that would have finished this season. He needed to have this team in L-ville, Lexington and N. Ky regions playing basketball games period.

 

 

Some of you guys dont think they are a top team and that is fine because we are all entitled to our opinion. Please do not downgrade what these boys have accomplished over their careers. They have stocked the trophy case and did it with talent, heart and hardwork.
