Cov Holy Cross 56 Beechwood 50 per KHSAA Scoreboard

Not as close as the score shows. HC lead by dougle digits for the majority of the game. HC gets a huge win and avoids Holmes in the first round of districts.

So CovCath and Cov Holy Cross will be the play each other in the 35th District Tournament, while Beechwood will be playing Cov Holmes.

Sounds right:thumb:

I hear Knochelman played well. That's a big bonus for HC.

Congratulations to Coach Goetz and the Indians.

HC saved their bacon but they still have no answer for Thelen and Wellbrock in the Districts. Unless Burger can catch fire from 3 land and score 25-30 I think Holmes and CovCath advance in Districts.

He played ok, but Arlinghaus had a great game down low.

Great to hear that the the long red-head had another strong game.

OK??? Are you kidding me. His baskets as Holy Cross built the lead were huge. You get 8 points out of him that is a solid outing. Also, the comment that the game was not as close as the score is inaccurate. Holy Cross Built the 17 point lead in the 3rd quarter and Beechwood chipped away the entire 4th quarter and I think got it to 3 and HC finished it off by making clutch free throws. Beechwoods pressure in the 4th was relentless. If they had been depper they could have done it longer and Holy Cross does not win. Marcus Lea hit some big shots as well.

I think it would be accurate in saying the game was not as close as the score indicates. Pohlgeers and Hall combined to hit 3 desperation 3's within the last two minutes. And if Holy Cross shoots better than 50 percent from the line, they win by 15.

No other way to say it - you are just plain wrong. Beechwood was up 13 - 10 after 1 quarter, HC was up 4 at halftime and HC made a run in the 3rd quarter. Beechwood responded too little too late in the 4th. Hats off to HC, though, they played a great game.

Very different Beechwood team without Corey Cruse. Holy Cross did a good job keeping the ball away from Pohlgeers and Fangman. Nick Hall played a nice game but they struggled to find scoring options from the other kids.

Holy Cross played a very disciplined game. They played hard on the defensive side of the floor and were patient on offense.

A lot on the line for this game, congrats to the Indians on the W. From what I have seen of Holy Cross I don't think they will match up well with CovCath, but we will see!

Congrats to Holy Cross. They seem to be a team that is getting better each week. Beechwood obviously has to be disappointed in this one. They now need to focus on getting better and beating Dayton the last game of the year to hopefully win another NKAC D3 championship.
