Coach Cotton is the Offensive Coordinator at LCA. He also was an offensive and defensive coordinator during his time at Henry Clay. He has coached at Georgetown College as well. I think he has somewhere around 17 years experience and several of those have been as an OC running the Tony Franklin System. He has multiple playoff wins and has been to the state finals 3 times as an assistant and led LCA to score 55 points in this years 1a state championship win. He would be an excellent choice and should at least deserve an interview.

Curtis Cotton would be a great hire at FC if he applied. He is a great guy who cares about the kids, knows the game and would be a good fit at FC. He knows the system well and if he can turn the offense around at FC with Coach Sheridan coaching the defense you could see a much improved Franklin County team. They return the majority of their team, which gained much needed Varsity experience.

Or have Coach Sheridan take over at HC. Nick loves FC and the whole program. The kids relate well with him too. If they go with Coach Thacker or Coach Sheridan they would certainly get the kids confidence and morale back up immediately. Good luck Flyers.

I agree that is funny. Actually I chose that name because that what I always here in the stands from fans and it cracks me up.

I agree, but Cotton would be the best hire if they do not stay within the program. I also agree that Sheridan deserves the job after all the work he has put in with the kids. Ran the weightroom by himself last offseason and is doing it again this offseason.

Have any candidates been contacted? When will interviews be held? For some teams spring practice is not that far away...

Does anybody know who has applied or shown interest?

I am not a huge "system" fan either, however, the talent that Franklin has coming is set up for that type of offense. They have a ton of young talent and bringing in a coach that is going to sling it around may help to keep most of that talent on the field.

I heard Ray Graham had been seen in the building. Man he is everywhere.

He coached at Harrison for a number of years. I would say that he after winning a championship at LCA he is ready to be a head coach again. Of the 3 places he has been interviewing at I would rank them 1. Henry Co. 2. Franklin 3. West Jessamine

Help me to understand why Henry Co. would be more appealing than Franklin Co? Does he have ties at Henry Co? I know he does at Franklin Co.

Mark it down. Ray Graham will be the next head coach at Franklin Co, Henry Co, and West Jessamine. At first I thought only 2 schools, but I think he is going to pull off the ole Trifecta and coach all three simultaneously. He will have a chance to become the first coach to win coach of the year in 3 different districts the same year. The only obstacle I see, is West Jessamine and Franklin are in opposing districts, so if they meet in the playoffs, he might have to coach one team one quarter and the other team another quarter, etc.

Just having fun!

You will never make it past Boyle, Catholic, and now Holmes in the playoffs, unless they are really down and you are really up.

Henry is in a much better situation, IMO.

Good point! Hopefully both schools will get the hire right.
