Will face 7th region rival Trinity tomorrow night 8PM

 

Football is a closer thing to rivalry, not so much hoops. Male rival is Manual.

 

Nevertheless, GRC doesn't seem like a true contender at this point and my guess is Male's quickness will give Trinity fits. If Male's streaky shooting guards are hitting on the perimeter it will be Male coming out the winner's in the Rocks vs Dogs.

 

GRC has a month to get on track thought.

Big time disappointing loss tonight. Male killed their free throws tonight. GRC played horrible.

Does this loss to another 7th region team mean GRC would seemingly be just an average team in that region? Just posing a question.

I wouldn't go that far, I think it just shows how good Louisville bball is.

It sure looks like Male is playing better, or at least a GRC fan would hope to say they lost to a up-and-comer rather than losing to a so-so squad midseason.

 

Male is basically the same team this year as we saw in the districts. With the exception of Horne developing into a much stronger player, they have the same personnel leading them. I would have figured Male's smaller backcourt struggling with a taller SG in Stenzil. That may have not been the case.

Just got in from the game. Congrats to Male. Talked to several of their players after the game and told them how well they played. They couldn't miss from the free throw line, something they didn't do the first time we played them. As stated above, GRC played terrible, give credit to Males defense, they made us play that way.

 

The Cards will be fine, we have just been playing some really good teams. With the quality of teams we have faced it will only help come post season.

Was talking to some of the Male parents about that tonight, it is very strong.

I've said all season long that I felt GRC was a very good team but when they played teams with more athleticism (Memphis Central, Trinity, Eastern, Male), they would struggle.

 

I must admit though, I'm surprised Male won this game.

 

I think Clark will be fine...they simply aren't playing good basketball right now and good teams are taking advantage of it, like they should. The Cards will be there when post season rolls around.

I'm not suprised. They did to us tonight what we did to them eariler in the season. Jumped out to a big lead. I believe they led by as many as 16. GRC fought back and was right there at the end of the game, but tunovers killed us.

Very well said. How did Stenzil do against the smaller, athletic guards of Male. I figured he would have given them fits with his height as other taller SG's have done?
