When I was little, I wanted a Chatty Cathy more than anything in the world (tells you how old I am). Didnt get it, but I got lots of other great things and I do not remember being disappointed at all.

Four is such an awesome year, enjoy it! I guarantee she will love her Christmas no matter what!

My thought was that a 4-year old will probably be happy enough with the other things they get.

Good luck and merry Christmas!

I'm going to guess that she will get plenty of fun things and may be distracted about the Barbie house. Well , lets hope so. I like the Santa can't bring everything and if you are good maybe you will get it for your Birthday.

We always had gifts from Santa, still do, but the "big gift" always came from us. Sometimes it was what they asked for, and sometimes it was something they never expected and would forget about everything else.

Maybe there is time to pick up the Barbie Jet.

This is just an example of one of the many reasons that we don't do the whole Santa Claus thing.

I told her that she may not get everything she asked for but to be thankful for what she does get. Then I threw in that anything she doesn't get maybe she would get it for her birthday if she was good. She was really excited with what she did get although she did say once that Santa didn't bring the house she asked for. I just reminded her of what we talked about and that if she was good and still wanted it when her birthday comes around she might get it then. She hasn't mentioned it again.
