Vikings 30 Bengals 10

Featured Replies

I have a lot of trust in our pass defense. However if our offense sucks again next week, then it won't matter how well the defense plays. You can't expect even a great defense to stop good offenses, if you are on the field all day. The Bengals have to figure out something on offense and in a hurry. I say they play Jerome Simpson instead of Purify. Give the guy a shot, maybe when the lights are on he does step up his game unlike in practice apparently. They need to do something to jump start this offense.

I really think something is wrong with Palmer. Even if guys aren't open, you throw to them one in a while to let them make a play. When's the last time CP has thrown a 20 yard pass to a recievers back shoulder. I am not buying that teams are taking away the deep ball. Minn DBs were playing the run all day.

The red flags where there not scoring much on Cleveland and Detroit. You can't expect to gain a lead on a playoff team then just run the clock out in the 2nd half. I don't think you can change it at this point. It would be a desperation move and i'm not sure how the backs would take it. Yes Benson has been a very, very, good back this year. But AP is a good back and they use him to open up the passing game. Granted we don't have their young youthful receivers, something has to change on O. 94 yards passing....

So basically when two good teams play against each other, it is expected that the Home team should win right? And would only be a surprise if the road team wins? That is basically what you are saying, and I don't agree with it. Yeah Minnesota was favorite to win like they should be, but you make it sound like it would have been a big surprise if the Bengals won, which it wouldn't have been IMO. Based on your thinking, I guess you only think the Bengals win won more game the rest of the year, since they only have one more home game and the other two are on the road against good teams.

Dude, take a breath.

That's not what I was saying at all.

Generally, the home team is favored. That's good for probably 3 - 7 points.

I thought Cincinnati had a good chance to win today, particularly since Harvin was out. But I didn't expect them to win.

Although you've completely misinterpreted, misunderstood and manipulated my post (did you even read it???), you're right that Cincinnati may only win one more game this regular season.

I think we lose next week at San Diego in a battle. I think we're just as good, if not better than SD, but the Bengals have never played well on the west coast. There is a lot on the line.

I think the Bengals beat KC at home, and I'm not sure what they'll do in New York. As of now, Sanchez is out. If that's the case, I think Cincy wins easily. Actually, I think Cincy will win that one with or without Sanchez.

Just look at the positive.

Magic number is 1 with three weeks remaining. No matter how you cut it, that ain't too bad.

Correct... because KC is on the schedule at home.

I'm with you I'm hoping/thinking 11-5 finish. But the great news is all we need is 10-6 (heck maybe 9-7).

At the end of the day, I'm just happy we are having these talks and that we have a very probable chance of making the playoffs and winning the division.

That's not even close to what he was saying. Most people expected Minnesota to win, he gave a pretty accurate list of why...

Most people expected a lot of the teams the Bengals have played this year to beat the Bengals. So whats your point? To say the lost was expected, it like saying it would have been a big surprise if the Bengals won today. I don't see how at this point in the year with the Bengals being a 9 and 3 team going into the game, that it would have been as big of a surprise as you all are making it to be.

The fact of the matter is the Bengals still control their own destiny for the 2 seed in the AFC, so I don't say how any team like that would be a big surprise if they won. Was Minnesota favorite yes, but no reason to act like it would have been a big surprise if they won.

Oh I definitely agree that something has to change on offense. This offense has been absolutely horrible since Henry got hurt. It shows that Henry really meant more to this team than people wanted to admit when he got hurt. This offense has to try to change something up, give Simpson a shot or just something. What they are doing now is not going to get them far in the playoffs.

I'm not sure how you find the logic in that.

The the O has been playing, I don't know any Bengal fan that felt really confident heading into this one.

I agree that he needs to at least take a chance and stretch the field some. You very well might be right, that elbow of his might be bothering him again or something. Or Marvin does say he wants Palmer to take what the defense gives him and not take chance, so maybe that is whats going on. No matter what there is definitely something going on for why we don't stretch the field at all.

I'm not sure how you find the logic in that.

When a team who is 9 and 3 and has been winning all year ugly even with their offense not really doing much this year. There is no reason not to believe, that they very well coudln't have pulled it off again. There is no reason ever why it should be considered a surprise if a 9 and 3 team wins a game. I don't know how you don't understand that logic.

Well anyone who has watched the offense struggle against Oakland, Cleveland and Detroit the last three weeks knows that what we have been doing wasn't going to get it done against a team like Minnesota. There, that is the logic in that.

As Bengals fans are we happy to be where we are? Absolutely.

Are we blind enough to know what we are doing on offense right now isn't good enough to compete for a Super Bowl? I sure hope not.

The offense basically did the same thing against those teams as it did against good teams when it comes to points scored. So its not like the offense went from scoring a lot before those games, then not scoring much. The Bengals still found ways to win all those games earlier in the year with the offense not scoring much, when everyone picked against them. By being the way they are they got to 9 and 3 going into this game. So once again there would have been no reason to have been really surprised if this team had won today. For you all to basically act like it would have been impossible for the Bengals to have won today is beyond me. Yes it would have technically been an upset since the Vikings were favorite, but would not have been a huge surprise at all going into the game.

Now I do agree with you that this offense has to get going though if it really wants to make a run at the Super Bowl.

95 yards passing. They gotta start throwing the ball or it will be a short playoff season thats if they even make it.

You're the one saying that we'd be surprised if Cincinnati won.

Cincinnati lost. I didn't expect them to win. I wouldn't have been shocked if they won, but I did not expect to walk into Minnesota & get a W.

Would it have been an upset? No, probably not. But I did not expect them to win.

A win today would have been nice, but a win next week is much more important.
