I'm not sure I've ever seen 1 second put back on the clock. I just saw the replay and I promise the clock ran out. UC was robbed

 

Even UC fans will tell you there was 1 tick left.. the ball went out of bounds right as the 2 turned to a 1. There was a solid tick left.

How some people can say the BCS is a good system, and is better than having a playoffs is beyond me. How can anyone like this current system? People say its based on who played the best in the season, and well that is not true at all. Its all based on opinion and opinion only. There is no way to say for sure that Bama or Texas is any better than UC, TCU or even Boise St. I mean given just one game, they very well could beat one of those teams for the title too.

 

I don't get how this is good for college football either. That is why you see coaches leave programs, because if you can't even have a shot at playing for the title even though you didn't lose a game then what is the point. How are program like UC, TCU and others ever suppose to get up to a level where they can sustain it? I mean recruits see this, and players want to win titles and they know now that you won't even get a chance at schools like these no matter how you do. It just simply aint right.

 

Have a 8 team playoff. Automatic bids to the 6 conference champions in the BCS conferences then 2 at larges. Play the first round of the playoffs the week after the regular season ends. Then wait to have the Semi's in two BCS Bows on New years Day. Then the Championship a week later. This does not take away from the season at all either, because the only guarntee way you make it to the playoffs is going undefeated. One loss still could keep you out. I really just don't understand people's thinking when they say they like the BCS how it is.

I know this won't happen. However the best way probably to get a playoff system in place is by having all fans boycott bowl games, especially the BCS ones. So this way college football is not making money off of it, and would be forced to make a change. I know this won't happen, but I think it definitely would get us a playoff system the very next year.

The people who run college football, have forgotten what college football is even for. Its about the players, and the people who are playing and working hard all year. That is who they need to think about, and who is should be about. The system that we have in place now is simply not fair, and is just not right. Players can do everything that is asked of them, and not even get a chance to play for a title. Since right now we base it on OPINION on who people think are the two best teams. Its not determined on the field like it should be.

Alabama may just beat Texas both are great teams but to say they will demolish them makes me laugh:lol: I guess Texas should just stay at home. I think it will be a great game between 2 great teams, the best 2 in the nation. Who has TCU beat? BYU Utah? :idunno:

 

McCoy may not win the Hiesman if not I sure hope it's not based on his performance against a great Nebraska defense. I think Ingram is equally qualified to win the Hiesman and so is Sue as well as many others.

I just don't get why they seem to think they would have to get rid of the bowls if they had a playoff system. As I said an 8 team playoff system would work perfect. The 6 conference champions and 2 at larges. So that does not take away from the season at all, and you have the teams that were best from the season in it. You could start the season one week earlier, or take away one game, then just play the first round of the playoffs the week after the season ends. Have the first round at the top 4 seeds home fields. Then wait to play the semi's on New Years day in two of the BCS bowls. Then the Finals the week after. For the teams that don't make the playoffs, you still can have all the bowl games. Then even for the 4 teams that get knocked out of the playoffs in the first round, you could put them in other bowl games still.

 

I really think that would work perfect. It keeps the bowl games like everyone likes. It doesn't take away from the season, because one lost still could keep you out of the playoffs. The only difference is that more of a true National Champion is being crowned because it is being done on the field instead of based on opinion. Something like this makes things more fair for everyone, and gives not traditional football schools a better shot at keeping their football coaches if they have success. Since they would have a fair chance at possibly playing for the title even while in the Big East, or other conferences.

You know this how? I mean I wasn't aware that Texas has played and beat UC this year, or TCU? So we don't know that they are better, we are basing that on opinion and that is a terrible way to come up with a Title Game.

I think Bama was going to demolish whoever steps onto the field with them... Gators and Bearcats?

 

I agree, Alabama is clearly the best team in the country, it is going to be a great matchup though. That defense played amazingly sound football today, I can't imagine what they would be like if Donta Hightower were healthy and playing as well.

TCU played Clemson as well, Texas played non-conference powerhouses like Central Florida, UTEP, Wyoming, and Louisiana-Monroe. They also beat a depleted, and deflated Oklahoma team, other than that the Big 12 has been down this season, Bo Pelini had an amazing gameplan against Texas and his D executed it as well as they possibly could have, they simply don't have the talent to keep Texas off the field when the game was on the line. Alabama will have more than enough fire power to hold Texas down, and they will be as well prepared as anyone Mack Brown has ever faced.
