December 1, 200916 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4701625 As an FSU fan, I am grateful for everything he has meant to FSU Football, but this day has been a long time coming. I look forward to the change.
December 1, 200916 yr Author FSU kinda kicked him out the door. He is kind of stubborn......I think it is the only way he would have left and that in this situation.....it had to be done.
December 1, 200916 yr I feel sorry for him. After all he as done for the program, to just be forced out is kinda sad.
December 1, 200916 yr Author I feel sorry for him. After all he as done for the program, to just be forced out is kinda sad. So in order to honor him the program should just suffer in mediocrity year after year? It's been clear since the early part of this decade that his assistant coaches made him look good and despite their yearly mediocre record, FSU has enough talent to be better than 6-6, 7-5 and 8-4. What choice does the football program have when he obviously doesn't know when to leave?
December 1, 200916 yr As a big FSU fan I am disapointed in how this was done. From day one FSU has handled this wrong. They have basically insulted the man. I am not saying his time was not at the end. Not that FSU will ever care, but I am not sure when I will root for my Noles again. They are making a mistake with Jimbo. He has displayed poor judgement this season. Three different games this season his has had poor clock management. On top up questionable play calling. The worse thing a University can do is have a coach in waiting. Coach Bowden is a legend and deserved better than he got. :madman:

The jury is officially out with him. As for Bobby, what is the answer? How can replacing him be done in a manner when he will not or would not leave? He said he wanted to do some soul searching and came back in less than 24 hours and said he wanted to coach one more year. The man is 80 years old and the game has clearly passed him by. The academic scandal didn't help anything and the Noles have been awful for years(by FSU standards). Had Bowden not been there for the last 34 years, he'd have been treated like Charlie Weis, which, IMO, is the right thing to do. In all honesty, I'd like Brian Kelly compared to Jimbo, but at the same time, the offense wasn't the problem this year. There has always been 2 camps in this issue. The "let him leave on his own terms" camp and the one I am firmly entrenched in which is "restore FSU Football to what it was no matter the cost" camp. I look forward to the change.
December 1, 200916 yr This is an awful way to treat a Coach like Bowden, he built FSU football in to what it is. He's in a slump right now as a coach but every coach and program has down years. Just a few years back Joe Pa was fielding much worse teams than FSU is right now and they have rebounded nicely!

I think you meet with Bowden and let him know it's over and let him save face and inform the media, instead of some loud mouth board member. Or some back stabbing President running off at the mouth. There is a graceful way to cut ties. Bowden deserved that!! What did he do after his meeting today? Went to raise money at a booster function. That is all FSU wanted from him. He needs to tell the to go jump in the lake.

It could have been handled better, I agree, but their job is to do what's best for the University and sometimes feelings get hurt along the way. For me, I just want FSU to be respectable again, by any means legally necessary.
December 1, 200916 yr Author http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-floridast-bowden&prov=ap&type=lgns Great, more indecision and uncertainty about the future of FSU football.:irked:

How, they still can't get past the Ohio State monkey on their back. No one is scared of Penn State.
