As a big FSU fan I am disapointed in how this was done. From day one FSU has handled this wrong. They have basically insulted the man. I am not saying his time was not at the end.

 

Not that FSU will ever care, but I am not sure when I will root for my Noles again.

 

They are making a mistake with Jimbo. He has displayed poor judgement this season. Three different games this season his has had poor clock management. On top up questionable play calling.

 

The worse thing a University can do is have a coach in waiting.

 

Coach Bowden is a legend and deserved better than he got. :madman:

I have long respected the FSU program (they would probably be my favorite team if the U didn't exist), but I will never root for them to win another game. I hope they get what they deserve. Was it time for Bobby to leave? Yeah, most likely. But, you just don't do that to a guy that has built your program and been a class act.

 

IMO the problems at FSU run deeper than just Bowden. According to some Jimbo has really fractured the locker room and coaching staff, and it's sad that he can work his way in to the job. He may end up being a great coach there, but I just don't think FSU can do business like this and succeed. The Seminoles are now near the level of UF in my book. It's a sad day.

He was never going to leave. If he was going to leave, he'd have left 2 years ago. FSU has just kept getting worse every year. I understand his legendary status and his place in FSU history, but what do you or can you do when the legend has overstayed his welcome? Keep losing?

Despite the failures of the team this year, that fact you posted is my sole optimism heading into next year, with Bobby or without.

He was out after 2010. He had promised his family. He really has been hit hard with tragic events over the last couple of years. He had promised Ann he would retire and they would start traveling with the grand kids.

I think they should have let him finish the way he wanted to. FSU owed him that IMO. He made them. Without Bobby Bowden there would be very few (if any) FSU fans outside of Tallahassee IMO. He hasn't ruin the program, talent is there and continues to come in. The whole situation lost them some players this year though, and possibly more to come. We'll see what Luc, Joyner, C.Jones, etc. do.

Jones, Luc, and Joyner were all thought to be locks before the season to FSU by many though. Once all the garbage started going around after the USF game, Luc became available and Joyner became an OSU lean. The situation couldn't have helped. I thought before the season that FSU might have had the best class in '10, star rankings wise.

Rankings don't matter if they aren't getting coached right.
