November 19, 200916 yr It will be nice to see him under Mike Shanahan:sssh: Although I wouldn't pick Buffalo as my #1 destination, I think Brohm made a wise choice. Green Bay has their quarterback and I think just about anybody could beat out Fitzpatrick's noodle arm. I'd love to see Brohm get an opportunity in Buffalo, but I'm not holding my breath.
November 19, 200916 yr Author Yeah, the Packers wanted to keep him so bad that they released him! "The Packers tried to match Buffalo’s offer, according to the Journal Sentinel, but Brohm declined and instead chose a fresh start with the Bills." He was not released, ... because he was a member of the practice squad he was eligible to sign with another team. The Packers tried to match the offer so I don't think I would call that a release.
November 19, 200916 yr I think a new start is great for him.. actually was hoping he could catch on with Cincy as a #3.
November 19, 200916 yr Their QB depth chart situation is: 1) Trent Edwards 2) Ryan Fitzpatrick 3) Gibran Hamden Gibran Hamden was released to make room for Brian.

Absolutely he was released. It happened in September. http://www.packers.com/news/releases/2009/09/05/2/ http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/2921/packers-cutdown-analysis-2 http://www.straitpinkie.com/sports/brian-brohm-released-by-packers/ The Packers matched the Bills' offer sheet because they didn't want their 2nd round pick from a year ago just walking away without at least an opportunity to stay in GB.
