That is what I'm arguing about. Both teams are better than their record. I wasn't using that to argue that Clemson is a quality win. No one takes them lightly. I'm sure the UC players were just terrified of UConn.:isurrender:

As for the Big East being better than the ACC I'd love to hear that argument. UC would have a loss in the ACC, and the rest of the teams would have 2 or more in conference losses with the exception of maybe Pitt.

I think Pitt has gotten better since then, but it does show exactly what the Big (L)East is all about. Pitt looks like world beaters in that conference.

I think TCU may be the 3rd best team in the country. I think they'd beat their bigger brother (Texas), and would be a good test of Bama or UF. I'd take TCU over UC, just because they seem like a more complete team.

 

I think TCU would have a better chance against UF or Bama than they would against Texas. As I have said before, even though I am a SEC guy and I absolutely hate Texas. I think Texas is the best team in the country this year. I think TCU, UC both could beat UF or Bama if they played, or would at least have a better chance against them than Texas. Texas can play some defense, and can score. While those SEC teams both have great defenses, but I very much question their offenses this year. Plus Bama or UF really haven't seen a high scoring offense this year, so their offense really hasn't had to win a game for them like I think it would have to if they played a team like UC.

I think Texas would have a tough time scoring on any of those 3. Texas cannot run the ball with their RB's and they don't stretch the field in the passing game. Colt McCoy throws a higher percentage of his passes under 5 yards than any other QB in the Country. That woudn't get it done against any of those 3 defenses, IMO. I don't think they'd score a TD on UF, and I think Bama and TCU hold them to under 17 points. Those short passes "work" in the Big 12, but you just can't do that all game vs. good defense. IMO, the best way to actually be able to move the ball against one of those 3 is to be able to mix in the fun with playaction passing. Texas cannot run the ball right now, and they don't attempt to beat anyone deep. Challenge Bama and UF's offense all you want, but I think Texas has just as big of problems. Without Shipley they probably lose a game or two this season. He is a good player, but I think TCU, UF, and Bama match up speedwise with him very well. If you take away his big plays, Texas is not a good offensive team either IMO.

 

I would rather see Texas beat UF than about anything, because I can't stand UF. But, if I was a going to put down a big bet, I'd take UF (or Bama) over Texas without hesitation. I just don't think you can throw 3 yard passes and consistently move the ball against those defenses.

I'm not sure there are more teams in the ACC. I'd say the top 33% of the BE and the top 33% of the BE are fairly comparable. I'd guess UC could easily win every game if they played in that conference. I'd say GTech could easily win every game in the Big East. My point is why do we say UC would lose a game in that conference? There is no evidence. It's all a guess. Every team in the top 25 could lose to any other team in the top 25.

Going through GT, VT, Miami and Clemson would be a tall order for about anyone though. Through in the next level of teams in the ACC and I think they'd possibly drop one or two, though I think they are the best team in either conference this season and have the best coach.

I would agree w/ that. I'm not a big fan of saying they would for sure have a loss or two. I think they would have at least one in the ACC and at least two in the SEC, but I don't know that.

I think OSU will be meeting the PAC 10 winner in the Rose Bowl, if they beat Iowa. If they lose to Iowa, I think they would be in less significant bowl than UC, if UC wins out.
