I just want to point out that jbwill is a Highlands fan, but I (personally) certainly apprecate that he seems to think highly of the Rocks.

Trust me, I REALLY, REALLY want to see St. X win 6A this year, since it will mean that Trinity doesn't rack up another one. But I have enough respect for the Trinity football program and tradition to know that Trinity is about the hardest playoff "out" in all of KY... they won't go down easily (if at all). The number-one predictor of future outcomes is past outcomes, and Trinity has proven on multiple occasions that they have what it takes to win titles, even in years where, on paper at least, they aren't the "best" team in their class.

 

With that being said, congrats to St. X on the huge blowout and best of luck in November/December... I suspect a lot of people in Caketown, USA will be cheering you guys on as well!

Two of the best CovCath "D" players were out of this game, Ritter and DeGlow

 

They were also missing Nienabar.

They lost all 3 players late in the week and had no practice time with the backups.

Would not have change the game outcome, but did have a impact on the score.

Worst effort I have seen by Cov Cath all year. They looked out of sync from the beginning. Constant downpour during the entire game rendered the passing game of Cov Cath non-existent. The rain did not slow down the St X running game and IMO St X is the fastest team I have seen all year on both sides of the ball, even in these conditions.

 

I was not at the game, but...............I would think that the weather conditions maximized the strengths of St. X and minimized the strengths of Covington Catholic.

I don't consider Cov Cath a passing team. Yes they run the spread but they have more yards rushing than passing this year and their QB is a better runner than passer IMO.

I guess we should just give the title to Trinity and not even show up.
