It was, as you say, a beat-down from the get-go. CC had one first down the first half.

 

The first down was on their very first play.

All things being even, I really do think St X is the best in state this year...I know you can compare the Cinci St X win vs the loss, but, thats just one game for each...Highlands would give St X a game, most likely, and may even beat em, but, in a 10 game series, X would come out on top in 6 or 7 of those, imo...

 

Same goes for the HHS/Cincy St X matchup. But on that night....

In all seriousness, assuming St. X. plays Trinity, if the Tigers don't get a win this year I am sure it will be one of the most disappointing losses in series history.

The Tigers looked the sharpest I have seen them all year. This team will continue to get better and when everyone returns, watch out. It is the year of the Tiger, write it down, these guys are really good.

I just want to point out that jbwill is a Highlands fan, but I (personally) certainly apprecate that he seems to think highly of the Rocks.

If no CCH player was injured then that's the highlight of the night.

 

Played without 3 defensive starters. Started 3 sophs in their place.

 

Not that any of that would have made a difference, thus, the injury comment.

 

Didn't make it to the game, but who were the 3 kids that didn't dress? Did they get hurt last week, because I thought they were at full strength but I could be wrong.

Worst effort I have seen by Cov Cath all year. They looked out of sync from the beginning. Constant downpour during the entire game rendered the passing game of Cov Cath non-existent. The rain did not slow down the St X running game and IMO St X is the fastest team I have seen all year on both sides of the ball, even in these conditions.

At one point I thought #10 Erpenbeck (QB) had a sure first down and maybe a 20 yard gain or so coming but all of a sudden out of no where a huge arm just reached out and grabbed him and threw him down. The St. X kid just came out of now where!
