Corbin played tough early, but seemed to run out of gas. LCA had to many athletes.

I am surprised at the number of passes attempted. I thought that number would be 200+.

 

LCA is a very balanced offense with Hayden running and Witt as a passer but also a runner. There hasn't been any team to consistantly stop Hayden plus LCA has played only 3 games in which Witt went the distance because of blowouts. With Hayden in the backfield and considering Witt really only played about half of a season I see why the attempts are low. Within the system you can adapt to what your personnel does best.

You can't turn it over against LCA, give them two more scoring chances than you are likely to lose. The pace of the game wore Corbin down and made hayden all that much tougher to tackle. Corbin needs to develop some depth or teams such as LCA and NCC will continue to wear them down in the second half of games. LCA has a great team and have improved defensively since last year and will be hard to beat in 1A this year.

Going foward, Corbin must find a way to improve the defense for the playoffs. This could give some of our playoff opponents ideas on how to defeat the Hounds.

 

 

Offensively, we can score enough points to win. Right now, I think the question is can we (the Redhounds) put together a defense capable of winning the 2A playoffs.

Unless you are going to face team in the playoffs with a mini-Hulk like Hayden, I don't think any of your opponents learned much from this game.

He has a deep thigh bruise and will be out next week and then his ability to respond to treatment will determine whether he is able to play in the 2nd round or not - assuming LCA makes it past Berea, of course.
