This country is in need of a MASSIVE "Do Over" in the federal ranks on both sides of the aisle and by any means necessary.

Open chamber. Insert cartridge. Spin chamber. Close chamber, using cool whipping move with firearm. Take drink of Courvasier. Take another drink. If so inclined, take a third drink. Place barrell at your temple. Release safety. Pull trigger. Repeat until health care policy utilized by your Health Care Surrogate, or Courvasier supply is exhausted.

THAT WAS OBVIOUSLY EDITED FOR CONTEXT. What did he say next, and why did CSNEWS cut it off right there.

surely you guys are not that lockstep with what you are fed. I don't believe it for a second, but you come on here and ask me too. you are much smarter I know, and have to assume that I am much smarter too.

Do we really believe that any of our reps read the entire bill? No chance.

No, but shouldn't we want them to read them? At the very least shouldn't they be given enough time to read them? In all honesty shouldn't every American be given enough time to read them? Politicans aren't good. None of them.

According to this article, he also told Michael Moore that lawmakers don't read most bills. Why would they it's only almost 2000 pages and it's just like the 1000 page one they should have read earlier, but he obviously didn't.

Since this bill has such huge implications on our future, I do expect them to read the bill. Even if means they do not vote on it until next year.

Our Founding Fathers spent a whole summer on creating the Constitution and debating its fine points. Then they spent over a year convincing Americans to approve of it, although slow communications added to that time-frame.

I watched the entire speech and not just 36 selected seconds. IMO he said that a)the bill is still bad (he's for single payer) and b)if you have to have thousands of pages and lawyers at your side while reading it its a bad bill. He says its too much of the same.

This is one more poor example of how the media uses sound bites without providing full context.

Regardless of the editing, I'm in agreement with SSC. The point is that I expect the people that have been elected to represent me (and you) to 1) to read bills that they sign into law, 2) to be given time to read them, and 3) to be given the necessary resources to fully understand what is in the bill. They should be fully informed of all the ins and outs, desired results and undesired results, etc.

Considering we foot the bill and elect them to office, is that asking too much? Hardly.

Our country and its leaders are a joke. There may be a few decent men or women in the cesspool of politics, but you could probably count them with your two hands...you could certainly cover it with fingers and toes.

Unless he said, just kidding, what's it matter?

His words: “I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?"
