October 28, 200916 yr You're saying that having an undefeated team and the chance for a team from your conference to play for a National Title will set the conference back? I don't think so. That's not even logical. 100% logical. If the best team you can put forth barely beat two nobodies your conference is not a legit top-notch conference. It would be terrible for the conference.
October 28, 200916 yr If USC beats Oregon this weekend and wins out they will get to the NC game before an undefeated UC team . IMO, and I'm not saying its fair or accurate, a one-loss Bama, Texas, and/or Florida team will get in before an undefeated UC team.

Because of their schedule, if they do drop a game they will take a huge hit in the computers. Still might happen, but would be much harder for them in that scenario...

October 28, 200916 yr Author If they have one loss but win the conference championship game .... Considering it would be against a very average rep from the not so good Big 12 North on the same day UC travels to Pitt?????????????
October 28, 200916 yr Considering it would be against a very average rep from the not so good Big 12 North on the same day UC travels to Pitt????????????? The challenge is that right or wrong voters will place a high value on winning the B12. UC would have to put up a 48-0 victory at Pitt to overcome that IMO.
October 28, 200916 yr Author Let's look a little closer at that one Clyde. The only real threat left on the Texas schedule is OK State, and chances are if they lose that one this weekend they will be left out of the Big 12 Title game. If they fall to UCF, Baylor, Kansas or Texas A&M this late in the year the computer hit would be significant...
October 29, 200916 yr I don't like using the comparative scores and x beat x who then beat x. If you use that philosophy I can show you how Bluefield State College would beat North Carolina a few years ago. I didn't use comparative scores. I'm not a big fan of it either, but in basketball polls don't decide the two schools that play for the title. Comparing resumes though I do think is somehting to look at. What UC has done compared to what Iowa has done against inferior opponents is laughable. So Iowa gets credit for a "big" win against a Penn St team that has no good wins. Unless beating a 5-3 (1-3) Michingan team is a good win. I think it all won't matter in the end b/c UC loses @WVU or @Pitt, and Iowa loses @OSU.

Oregon State :sssh:

BTW, the "good" team UC beat is 4-3 :idunno: @Penn St is a good win. I'm not disputing that at all. I'm just not sure how good PSU is. @Oregon St isn't as good of a win as @Penn St. Beating Northern Iowa by blocking 2 FG's isn't good though no matter how you look at it. Neither is beating Arkansas St by 3. Both games were home. If it was a one time occurence I think it could be overlooked a little more. By the way Iowa is getting some run for a "good" win against Arizona. Their best win is @Oregon St. Again, it probably won't matter as I see them both losing. I'm just not sold on people saying Iowa has a better resume. I hope they do both run the table though so the BCS becomes more of a farce. Is it even disputable that as of now @Oregon St and @Penn St is better than anything Texas can claim? Also, doesn't Boise have the best win of all of the top 8 or so teams?

I agree with all of the above. Comparing the resumes of UC and Iowa, I could make an argument either way. Boise has a great win against Oregon and not much else. TCU has wins @Clemson and @BYU. They have a real solid resume.
October 30, 200916 yr Baylor? Really? UCONN also lost to a bad, bad UNC team... at home. Wait.....What? If UNC is a bad, bad team what does that make VT? Does Bama's "good" win not count as a "good" win now? Or does UCONN's loss not seem as bad?
