October 28, 200916 yr The for instance is my exact point. What has Texas done this year to deserve a shot other than have a big name and win some games last year? Judging from this season UC would roll Iowa. See anyone can "judge" something. Big 12 > Big East. Big East has 8 teams and no conferene title game. Like I said, it's not fair but teams in those conferences just don't have to schedule any good OOC games. It's not failr, but they do play in better conferences. Big East isn't much better than the MWC.

Big East isn't much better than the MWC. Big East: 8 teams. 3 teams ranked in BCS poll Top 25 Big 12: 12 teams. 2 teams ranked in BCS Top 25 Clearly the Big 12 owns the Big East this year...

October 28, 200916 yr Big East: 8 teams. 3 teams ranked in BCS poll Top 25 Big 12: 12 teams. 2 teams ranked in BCS Top 25 Clearly the Big 12 owns the Big East this year... Ranked at the moment. Let's not kid ourselves. :idunno: The Big East is a joke besides UC and maybe Pitt. USF is going to get there again, WVU hasn't been the same since Rich Rod left, UofL need I say more? Rutgers is average, UConn is no good, and Syracuse is starting a PG at QB. I'm sorry that UC could go undefeated and still not make the title, that doesn't change the fact that they have a garbage schedule and are a relative no-name in the college football world. Maybe they can get in to the title against UF or Bama and get embarrassed so we can stop all of this nonsense.
October 28, 200916 yr Author So... you think the Big East is better than the Big 12? Did I say that somewhere???
October 28, 200916 yr Author UConn is no good But they did win a road game against a team from the mighty Big 12...
October 28, 200916 yr Author You sure implied it. I implied that it was obviously clear how powerful the Big 12 is this year with 2 of 12 teams ranked right now...
October 28, 200916 yr I implied that it was obviously clear how powerful the Big 12 is this year with 2 of 12 teams ranked right now... You won't ever see me debate that. I've been of the opinion that the Big 12 was overrated for a few years. Outside of Oklahoma & Texas (consistently), I have not been overly impressed with any of the teams.

Outside of Oklahoma & Texas (consistently), I have not been overly impressed with any of the teams. Exactly. I think the B12 is a really good conference and year in and year out it's far superior to the B E. My only problem is this year Texas will have exactly 0 wins against OOC BCS schools and the second best team in the conference lost at home to Houston. Are we sure that conference is good this year? I know Oklahoma has major injury issues, but they have 2 losses out of the conference, one to a team not in a BCS conference and they could easily have taken down Texas after replacing their QB in the 1st quarter. OK St does have a nice home win against Georgia OOC, but there isn't much else. Edited October 28, 200916 yr by SSC
October 28, 200916 yr But they did win a road game against a team from the mighty Big 12... Baylor? Really? UCONN also lost to a bad, bad UNC team... at home.

October 28, 200916 yr Why does almost everyone on here bash the Big 10 during bowl season, but defend the Big 10 in this argument? What in the world has Penn St or Ohio St. done to be considered good? UC has played at a Pac 10 school that beats USC every two years, they play a Big 10 school, they played a Fresno team that's decent, and they played a rivalry game against Miami OH. Iowa had to block two FG's to beat one of the worst teams in the country at home. South Florida was getting some pub at the time that UC went to their house on a packed nationally televised Thursday night game and ran them out of the stadium w/ their backup QB. I'm not sure who would win if Iowa and UC played, but Iowa's resume isn't nearly as strong as people say. My dream scenario is Florida or Bama getting beat by less than 3 on the road. Whoever loses that game wins the SEC title game 7-6. USC going down by 3 or less this week and Texas getting beat in OT this week. TCU/Boise/UC/Iowa all going undefeated. It won't happen, but if it does maybe something will change for the best in college football. Boise absolutely dominated Oregon. The score was way closer than the game. If Oregon jumps them it has to be a good thing in the messed up world of the BCS. I don't like using the comparative scores and x beat x who then beat x. If you use that philosophy I can show you how Bluefield State College would beat North Carolina a few years ago.
