Naked in Your Own House

Featured Replies

A guy was naked in his kitchen drinking coffee when a woman and her child cut through the guy's yard. The woman saw him nude. Apparently, he was moving around as was easily seen through the windows. He was charged by the police.

What are the laws on Indecent Exposure?

For example, if my neighbors are having sex in their living room and its viewable by someone walking down the sidewalk is that a crime?

What if I live in a high rise and I look at the high rise next to me and on the next floor down I see through the open window a naked guy? Indecent exposure?

I can't imagine that simply being seen naked in your house is enough to be charged.

And this occurred at 5:30 in the morning. He got up to make a pot of coffee and a lady and her 7 year old son walked by the house and saw him through the window. Why is a lady and her 7 year old son walking around at 5:30 in the morning????

They cut through his yard isn't that considered tresspassing?

I'm glad he didn't spill the coffee and get burnt.

Correct. I believe the woman claims he sort of went room to room so she could keep seeing him. If so, I guess I can see that somewhat. I would guess the "deliberate" portion got him busted.

Uhh, quit looking in his house?

What was he charged with? Indecent exposure?

Which could lead to 1 year in jail and $2000 in fines.

Well, we certainly don't know how she came to see him.

However, lets assume she was cutting through the yard as described, saw him, was shocked, kept walking, and he kept moving along with her with his genitals exposed.

I believe almost every state has a statute that would cause him to be charged.

If he had been standing there stretching, she saw him, she was shocked, kept walking, and he didn't move from room to room then my guess is you have nothing.

I read the KY statutes and the intentional display portion seems to be the key and answers my previous questions.

Assault with a dead weapon.

What would have happened if this was reveresed. What if this was a 29 year old women in her home naked? What would the police do?
