I think all 10 teams are the ones who should be in there, I'd probably have PBurg at 2 and Corbin at 3 with Desales at 4, NCC and Murray at 5 and 6 and Monroe at 7..8, 9 and 10 look good...Thats just me, but, overall, looks good...

I think you're misinterpreting some things that have been said in other threads. Everybody has some poor teams on their schedule ... some go out of their way to add more to the slate.

 

Corbin hasn't played that strong of a schedule, but nothing was said about that when they were ranked second for a good part of the season.

 

If memory serves, Corbin was ranked second until the loss to Clark County, which at the time looked like a mediocre 6A club. However, Clark's subsequent wins over Henry Clay and Tates Creek might serve to reassess that sentiment.

 

Personally, I think you could take the 2-4 teams (Corbin, DeSales and Prestonsburg) and justify putting them in any order. The Lexington Christian game next week will be one where we can make a good judgment of this Corbin team.

I think they are one spot to low, but I don't see them beating the Corbin or Fort Campbell right now, and if Corbin is 4th then they should be no better than fifth. That being said, their line is starting to gel. They are starting their annual run, and I truly believe that by the start of the playoffs they will be able to compete w/ anyone in 2A.

Do you think Corbin can beat LCA? I am interested in seeing that score. I tend to think LCA will handle Corbin rather easily and that is no slight to Corbin. I just think LCA is that good this year. And I don't think a loss to LCA should hurt Corbin much in the rankings if it happens.

It's hard to get a handle on Corbin, in part because of their schedule.

I agree with that. And if they play LCA close, then I think it will cause a couple of the 1A teams to think they can beat LCA. Right now, I don't see anyone in 1A beating LCA.

I would agree that Lexington Christian is the favorite in Class A, but not nearly to the extent that Fort Campbell is in Class 2A.

I just hope we can play on a decent field for once this year. We have played in mud holes all year. Thats another issue that should be taken into account when people start talking all-state, Mr. football,.... We don't have the luxury of playing on turf. Our field is an absolute mud hole right now, after the recent band competition and all of the tractors moving equipment around on an already sloppy field.
