From watching the highlights of the Bellevue Ludlow game The Tigers don't look as big as people are talking about. Ludlow was bigger than them but very very very very very slow.

Bellevue has some beef on their line. Overall the Panthers did look bigger though, I will give you that JB.

BEECHWOOD if want any respect and love from the teams out west you better beat Bellevue to death. A lot of them think you are over rated. And would like to play you in the playoffs. GOOD LUCK friday!!

 

Now this is funny. I do not think Beechwood cares if anyone respects them or not. They let it all happen on the field. That would actually play into the hands of the Tigers, IMO.

 

If you know anything about rivalry games you know not all of them are blow outs. One of the teams could be winless and the other undefeated and the game could be close. I do not think Beechwood will beat them to death. It will probably be fairly close, especially with the weather.

 

If you folks out west would let us northerners in on your rankings we would love to hear them. Who would you rank ahead of Beechwood that is currently behind them? That is how you mean over rated, right?

 

It is funny how this year Beechwood did not beat 5A Dixie, 5A Cov Cath or 5A Highlands and some feel they are over rated. As I read in another post, most 1A schools in the top 10 would have been 0-4 or 1-3 if they had played the schedule Beechwood started with.

 

I find it funny how everyone wants to play them this year when they may be a little thin. Over the summer a Bellevue parent even hoped this game was right after the HHS game so Beechwood would be beat up and possibly not at 100%.

Just to be clear, there are 8 seniors that start and play both ways - and that is the entire senior class. The reason you see the comments about being young is because Beechwood usually does not play sophomores much. You might see one or two sophomores each year that get significant playing time. This year, there are 7 or 8 that have played quality varsity minutes. Injuries have led to some of the playing time but some of it is because there is a lot of talent in the sophomore class.

 

Beechwood has had the luxury of not having a lot of players go both ways in the past. But most normal class A schools don't. I think this has been a huge advantage late in the games for them in the past. Its not normal for a class A high school to have 20 outstanding athletes like Beechwood has been coming up with for the last 20 years. What is in the water out that way? I'm sure being the excellent coaching staff that they are Beechwood coaches have made sure that these players are ready for the extra work.

Bellevue only larger than normal for them. They are not extremely large compared to your average Beechwood team. I would say they probably average 6'2" and maybe 250 lb across the front.

Where is the inside information coming from? To go from war to a peaceful surrender before the battle starts? Did Buckler break his leg? Did Will's forget the plays? Maybe Hegge transfered?

This game is shaping up to quite possibly being the Northern Kentucky game of the year. There is so much on the line for these two great teams. Bellevue should be very hungary for another win over Beechwood. Its been a couple years coming. They should be even more hungary for a District Championship...I believe 10 years ago was the last. Bellevue probably feels that not only do they want the win, but also deserve it. I know that they have had tough tough practices throughout the summer and year and have been working for this chance. However, Beechwood is Beechwood. No matter if people feel they are down in comparison to previous years or not. They are still a great team with great athletes and great coaches. As much as Bellevue is hungary for the win, Beechwood wants to keep the District Title in their hands. Then we look at playoff positions. If I am correct in saying so, the winner of this game will have home field advantage until the State Title game, if the winner makes it that far. With that being the case, this game could help in deciding who is playing for a State Title.

 

In the end, I will pray for the Bellevue Tigers that the gods open up the clouds with as much rain as possible. With the rain Bellevue wins by 12. Without the rain, I still take Bellevue, but only by 6.

Someone is printing this stuff, passing it out to players, and hanging it on their lockers. Rash has opened it up in practice and they are getting after it big-time and it's been nasty. You also won't find them on their turf field after school (perhaps for the past few weeks). If the game is moved to turf there will still be doubt so they want this game on their field under any field conditions.

I never said either was under or overrated. I pray for rain so that Bellevue continues their winning ways in the slop. I think Bellevue prevails either way, but with a bit more breathing room in the rain.

I may be a little high on the 6'2" but not the 250 lb's. The overall team size doesn't appear that big because most people focus on Buckler and some of the skilled players who are a little undersized. Don't tell anyone but the small guys have the hart of a lion I mean Tiger.:sssh::sssh:

That really makes this one even more fun for Beechwood. They will get a real test of whether the defense has improved and can handle a big line. I know it may sound a little crazy, but it is nice finally playing another challenging game versus wondering if your starters will play in the second half at all.
