Couldn't be happier for Henry D-Coordinator Dennis Ledford. This one just shows he is one of the best defense coaches in Central Kentucky.

Congrats to Coach E., his staff and the Fightin' Wildcats of Henry County. Clinched the district against a worthy opponent from Western Hills. Now I got to get this off my skinny chest. Article in the Frankfort paper sayin' as how Hills would come in here and play "smash mouth" with Henry Co. I bet they had a light breakfast this morning because of their sore mouths. Played right into Henry's hand trying to out muscle the Cats. Henry appeared to be the stronger, more physical team. Turnovers about the same, bad calls or no calls about the same. Bottom line is Henry County had the better team on this night by 7 points. Way to go Cats, see you in Taylorsville next Friday night.

I believe this is the 2nd district title in 4 years under Coach E, and the 3rd or 4th district title in school history?? (someone can correct me if I am wrong). Good win for the Cats, but going undefeated in your district would be a nice feather in your hat considering EVERYONE picked you as the dead horse in the district this season.

As an observer of this district who typically sees all the teams, I don't know many serious folks who actually thought pre-season that there was much difference between the four squads...so...while I do know Henry was picked fourth and last in at least one poll that I'm aware of, I don't know anybody who's surprised that they're district champs.

I wasn't too impressed with him last night. Seemed like pressure really got to him. There were more over thrown and under thrown balls than there were completions. He is elusive, I think throwing th ball to him and letting him lumber down the field would be better for any college.

Curry is a strong kid hard to bring down, I think he is for sure not a QB in college anywhere let alone at tha ville! But with work he can grow into a nice lineman or Tight end on the division one level he is every bit as big as they say he is!

Dylan Curry is a great all around football player and will be very successfull on the next level. He has an incredible work ethic and is extremely coachable. Although Curry has had a rough time as of late throwing the ball down field he still has thrown for over 800 yards this season and ran for over 600. This coming off a season where he threw for 1500 yards in 8 games. Henry Countys defense played extremely well last night but I wouldnt say they WH has sore jaws today. Western Hills did run the ball fairly well aside from a couple of fumbles. Lets see the game for what it was and that is a great battle between two evenly matched and well coached teams.

This game was very close - neither team able to generate much offense. Henry Co had a big play on a busted defensive assignment by Western Hills early, then struggled to move the ball as well. The difference in the game was field position. Henry Co started 80% of its drives in Hills territory (including drives that started at Hills' 11, 23, 26, and 28), while I think Hills only started 1 drive in Henry Co territory (their TD drive).

 

Those not "impressed" with Curry must have not been at the game. He was under pressure all night (Hills lost Guard Justen Perry in 2nd half that really hurt), but still able to make plays and put his team in position to score. Curry was able to escape often for big runs, while he also had some good throws that would have been long plays (2 probably going for TDs) that were dropped. Henry Co did a good job of bringing pressure and forcing Curry into some poor throws, but Curry did much better job than some seem to indicate.

I agree. The only part of Curry's game that didn't look very good to me was his punting, I don't know if that is typical or if he just had a bad night. On the other hand HC's punting team had an exelent game. As did the rest of their special teams.
