titletownclown Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Another miserable weather football night. This is 3 week in a row. Maybe next week will improve.
PurplePride92 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Another miserable weather football night. This is 3 week in a row. Maybe next week will improve. Its only going to get colder. My coveralls kept me warm and comfy tonight. I hope they keep me warm and comfy all the way to December 4th.:thumb: Do you think the field will hold up throughout the playoffs? The field is in bad shape. There will be at least 2 more games(Frosh/JV) played on the field before we host our first playoff game.

As far as the field is concerned, we need a week of dry weather to let it "heal" up. With all the wet weather games we've had this fall, I'd say a lot of schools are seeing their fields ripped to shreds. If (and this is a big if) Boyle gets to the rematch with Bell this year, I'm sure the field will be pretty ugly.

Yeah, I guess with my sweatshirt, 2 beanies, coveralls and jacket, I couldn't feel the rain. I really hate cold weather..... You are right. I can only imagine what 3 straight weeks of Friday night football would do to an already battered field if(and it is a big if) we make it to that Bell County rematch.
Benz_Trophies Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 If the weather gets real cold the thawing and freezing process will make the field even worse.
super Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 With Boyle scoring 47 tonight, thats puts the season total to 375,almost 47 a game, while the D is giving up 64 for season which is 8 per game. Not bad,but can do better.GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gold sunrise Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Congrats to the Rebels and their fans.:thumb:

Good win tonight Rebels.....If Bell(and thats the big if) makes it to the rematch hopefully the field will be in good shape.
Hatz Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Just some FYI on the Rebel's schedule. Much has been made of it being very weak in the not too distant past. But after last night's games, it doesn't look nearly so bad now. If you take out two teams who are a combined 3-13, the rest of Boyle's opponents have a 29-20 record and I think they are all "break even" to winning record. (even throwing the two bad records in the record is 32-33) BTW, the two BAD teams (record wise) are: Danville and Mercer County. (Who'd have thought?) Just some tidbits for post game digestion. :thumb:
Rebel Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 First game I've missed in some time. My son had a Cross country meet at Wilmington College last night. IMO It's the defense that will decide how far this team advances in the playoffs. Can't do much better than a shutout and 39 total yards for the game with 2 firstdowns. Do you think the field will hold up throughout the playoffs? The field is in bad shape. There will be at least 2 more games(Frosh/JV) played on the field before we host our first playoff game. I'm hearing that there is a good chance that the playoff games could be move to Centre College's field turf field.
