New forensics techniques test various theories about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

 

I haven't seen it but it sounds interesting.

On a completely random, but salient, tangent...did anyone watch Amazing Race this past Sunday? They were given a photo of a photo of a woman in a car that was to be found hanging in a hotel. The woman was Jackie Kennedy Onassis......most of them had no idea who she was. One guy thought she was the queen of England. :lol:

I saw the entire special that this video was taken from. It left no doubt in my mine that there was only one assassin, Lee harvey Oswald, in Dealey Plaza that day. I also read the 1600+ page book by Vincent Bugliosi titled "Reclaiming History". It took a long time to finish it but it was worth it. He left no stone unturned in his research of the assassination. Nearly all the reviews agreed that once one read Bugliosi's account of the events of that day there's no question there was no conspiracy.

I'll check the library for the audio version, I cannot read long books. ^^^

 

Thanks for the updates. I was 10 when this happened and I remember the moment when it was announced over the speaker at school. I still can hear the kids reacting and some not knowing what had happened. And it will always haunt me.

I was 9 and in 4th grade when it happened. We had just returned from lunch when a teacher came into the room and told our teacher that the President had been shot, but he was still alive. Then a little later several other teachers were out in the hall and I heard them say he had died. Most of them were crying. It was a sad weekend and was all that was on TV. I watched 2 days later when Ruby killed Oswald. They showed that scene over and over for days. Then all the funeral was on TV.

I remember thinking that the world had gone crazy, and even at the age of 9 I had difficulty sleeping for a while.

I met him a few times. Very nice fellow and I agree, he was very intersting person.

 

He was in Dallas with JFK that day because press secretary Pierre Salinger couldn't make the trip. He was first to announce to the world the sad news.

Correct me if I'm wrong Atticus, wasn't Kilduff the one who began the Wooly Worm Festival in Lee County back in the early '80's? He was also editor of the Beattyville Enterprise.

The History Channel is airing that special tonight. After years of believing in a conspiracy that program changed my mind.

Lest we forget Professor, the man who announced President Kennedy was dead to the world, lived in Beattyville until his death a couple of years ago. You can see his hand holding the microphone when President Johnson is getting sworn in as well. Malcom Kilduff was his name. Deputy press secretary. He was a very interesting man.

 

Interesting points and as an FYI Kennedy was dead upon arrival at the hospital. Futile but necessary attempt getting him to the hospital.

I really liked the show because it unvieled a lot of audio and video that I hadn't seen. I'm way too young to have been around to experience what the country was like in the aftermath of the assination. I think the show does a good job dipecting that in a way I hadn't ever seen.

 

Personally, I'm not very interested in conspiracy theories. It happened closer to 50 years ago than 40, and I'll take a gamble and say there's been one or two other cover-ups since then. I'm much more interested in learning about how what happened affected people of that era, what it was like to experience that moment in time, and how it may have shaped things today.
