GaViking Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Congrat's to Dixie. Tried to find the game on internet radio and found out it was changed to Bellevue/Dayton game.
The Observer Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Fun game to watch. Zumdick and Pike played a heck of a game for Dixie, while #11 and Jenson played really well for Holmes. I heard number 11 is a freshman, and if thats true, he's going to be a stud. In my opinion Holmes outplayed Dixie inbetween the 20 yard lines, but the colonals were able to punch it in while the bulldogs settled for field goals or failed 4th down conversions.

Defense, offense, or both?
NEERFAN Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I thought Dixie would handle the Dogs, did the weather play a factor?

Clyde Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I heard number 11 is a freshman, and if thats true, he's going to be a stud. . Dasean Peterson is, indeed, a freshman.
Clyde Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Defense, offense, or both? Nice game for Zeke tonight. He did most of his damage from the TE spot.
Clyde Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 In the first half, Holmes had the ball first and goal inside the 5 twice and only came away with 2 FGs. They ended the first half with the ball on the 14 and eschewed the FG and came up short. In other words, Holmes did a great job moving the ball until they got to the red zone. Jensen is a solid qb. Holmes is a solid and improving team. Coach Lickert and his staff have done a very nice job at Holmes.

Not only did Pike and Zumdick play well, the other two linebackers were all over the field. Ben Wolf #30 was constantly in the backfield, and Goose Cohorn #3 had a handfull of tackles and deflections. Good job against a much faster Bulldog team. Good luck too both teams the rest of the year!
nees1212 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Nice game for Zeke tonight. He did most of his damage from the TE spot. Thanks. I always thought from day 1 that he could be a solid TE for them. With his size and hands, he's a perfect fit. Defensively, he's had his struggles, but has improved week to week. From that outside linebacker spot, he got sucked into the middle way too many times early in the season.

The few times I've seen him offense seems to be the better side of the ball for him. He showed some hands tonight and solid running ability.

I agree. Right now, on the defensive side, he's too weak. He had a decent game against Highlands, but he gets pushed around too much. IMO, he hasn't grown into his body yet.
letabrotherspeak Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 The Dawgs showed some grit, and played fairly well. I think they were inside Dixie's 20 yard line three or four times and came away empty. Peterson is going to be a real nice player, and he is only a freshman. It is going to take a real good 4A team to knock Holmes out of the playoffs.
