Buckler put up another big game (228yds) and the Bellevue offense continued to roll. Overall great job by Bellevue,

 

Brossart is simply not as good as Bellevue. They were poorly coached...1st and goal inside the 5 with 40+ seconds and a timeout left in the first half and could not get it in! Then they went to the hurry up offense with their first team, while Bellevue had it JV team in on defense.

 

Bellevue will continue to roll the next couple of weeks....Keep the Paddle hanging in those BHS hallways!!

Did not seem to be as easy as the score would show. Very workman-like performance by the Bellevue Tigers.

You are wrong when saying they are poorly coached. And at the end of the game thier hurry up offence they didn't throw the ball one time, they just lined up and ran the ball. From my understanding they lined up in thier goalline offence and just ran it because earlier in the game they had trouble getting it in. And with inside the 5 it looked like Bellevue just made good plays and stopped them on the goalline. Has nothing to do with coaching.

Agree, I had two coaches sitting next to me in the pressbox who were screaming "Get out of bounds" as our running back was running up the sidelines with only seconds to go in the half. It's something you expect a player to instinctively know. He didn't, or else he thought he was going all the way.

 

Our coaches have shown that they are willing to take some risks to make some good things happen. Going for it on 4th down, onside kicks, etc., are attempts to jumpstart some momentum. Sometimes it works (i.e., 4th and long in our own territory on our first possession at Ludlow that resulted in a TD), and sometimes it doesn't. When it works you are a brilliant coach, when it doesn't, well ............

 

Coaching is done on the practice field on a daily basis and hopefully those efforts show up on game day. Our program is still in its infancy - sometimes things go as scripted - sometimes they don't. I certainly don't think that is a reflection on our coaching!

 

Any yay-hoo can pay their bucks and get on here, hide behind a pseudonym and type words like "poorly coached." Talk is cheap. Give this program some credit and give this program some time. This coaching staff brought this program off of life support - we are very lucky to have them.

 

The attached photo shows some of the interest/enthusiasm for our football team and our program. I'm willing to bet that our students had more fun while Bellevue was handing us our hats, than perhaps the Bellevue kids themselves did. We will survive because there is interest and because there is support - it's only a matter of time.

When Brossart scored Bellevue only had 3 jv players in the game. Their starting DT and LB's were still in the game. Bellevue was just better last night. This will give the Mustangs something to build on and get better. Rome wasn't built in a day and great programs aren't handed out they are earned.

Well said. :thumb: Brossart has made some good steps forward this year and are headed in the right direction.

I have to give it to the Brossart fans great enthusiasm. Their team didn't lose for lack of fan support. Nice to see a team get this much support when getting it handed to them in the game.

As far as the coaching goes I will have to agree with Rhino 74. I heard and saw some things I didn't agree with. The head coaches antics on the sidelines was a little out of control. I'm not going to go into the play calling. Any time you lose a game people are going to question your play calling. Having class is something you can do regardless of winning or losing.

I didn't care for the way he continually jawed at the Bellevue players.

 

Then after hearing and seeing that if you watch him he belittles his own players from the sidelines.

 

At least he doesn't make his team run after the game.

 

I know the guy thought he had a chance to win this one but you have to show a little more class then he did.

I will say one thing their are alot of people that are good football coach's when sitting at a computer. People have opinions about how coach's should be and have never been in the situation.
