From what I have seen from Owen, their frontline looks to be one of the best in Region 8 :ylsuper:

Owen will surely have a A+ frontline but it will all depend if the so called "SUPER" guards can give them the ball. :idunno:

Lewis is an athletic guard. He brings a lot of positives for Owen. The question is, will he be willing to assume his role and throw the ball in to the big boys and play defense. I think Kelly and Osborne will do that. I don't know if Lewis even starts.

1. Kelly - good handler, will pass first, knows his role

2. Osborne - good spot shooter, good size, will follow his role

3. Shelton - creates problems, 6'8 can score inside and out

4. Colligan - work horse who rebounds and battles every possession

5. Williams - 6'6 very good inside

 

Lewis comes in off of the bench to provide a spark. Owen will be very tough to beat. All three guards are decent, but none of them have handled the heat from Anderson, Shelby or North. The bigs are best suited for a half court game. Shelton and Williams are going to have a difficult time guarding peopel away from the basket, slow feet. I do think Owen should win the All A and their district. Depending on their draw, they should win their opening regional game. I think that is their ceiling.

Owen is good, but not near the caliber of Holmes. I also think agree with the starting lineup listed above. Owen's frontline is impressive so i think they should use them all.

 

Owen will dominate the paint in most every game they play.

In the past their current backcourt players do not handle pressure well, but with a new season coming up well see how they have changed. They have to be favorite to win the 8th All "A" and to win the district.

New coaches around the region, Hicks going back to Shelby, and the smaller schools will have more chance than every to compete agaisnt the larger schools with teams like Gallatin, Henry, and Owen looking to have really good teams. Only problem with that is that those 3 are in the same district so only two of them will make it to New Castle in March. We know Shelby is the front runner as of now, but a team like Owen could make some noise and end up in the region finals or a team like Trimble could upset an Oldham in the 29th. The 8th will be an extremely tough region to win this year.

Yeah, none of the guards left are ball hogs. They know when and how to throw to the bigs. Lewis especially. He's the only one out of Kelly, Lewis, and Osborne that has started Varsity (all of his Junior year). Kelly and Lewis are seniors this year. Osborne I think is a Sophomore.
