Shelby is just better then everybody else....although I thought they had more talent then Anderson last year and AC beat them 3 times.

I went by the gym and Friday and caught the last half of practice. Shelton went pretty much the whole day.

Right now, Shelby's on a completely different level than anyone else. It is a long season, and everyone else will likely narrow the gap a bit before all is said and done. How much is yet to be determined. But - position by position - Shelby is simply loaded. Talent, size, speed, experience, and solid coaching. Pretty tough package to beat.

 

If Shelby has a weakness, it may be that when Beckley came off the floor, they looked lost last year. But that was last year, and they - like everyone else - have been working to shore up weaknesses. I'm sure Mike Clark has been working his PG backups hard to avoid that kind of drop-off this year.

 

Shelby is definitely beatable; nobody's ready to mail the trophy to Shelbyville outright...but they are starting the season as the VERY STRONG favorites, IMO.

 

They also have the motivation of playing the final season that Shelby County has just one public high school. Martha Layne Collins HS opens next fall.
