OK, I'm confused... who's trashing Shelton? All I've seen posted on this thread have been accolades for the young man... :confused:

 

Just the whole mentality of some of the people on BGPs.....people getting on here to down players in ways that MAY be offensive to others. That you cannot get on here and have good forum conversation without it. It's a game. It's not a DEFINITION of one's character, intelligence, or any other defining characteristic that will allow them to succeed in life. I guess when some people learn that, these sorts of forums will be fun to read and interact on. When it comes to a TEAM - not who's at practice, who's not, who starts, who plays, etc. Its a TEAM for that very reason. If you're more worried about all those other things, it has been proven for years and years that you will losing season.

I think some people are wearing their emotions on their sleeve. Asking why a kid is not in practice is in no way bashing a kid. It is a question. Nobody putdown the individual or the team. This is the most I've ever seen about the eighth region and I for one, am having fun reading in this forum.

Was that what started this? When I asked why Shelton wasn't in practice?? OMG! That was tongue-in-cheek - guess I should have used an emoticon, but thought it was fairly obvious that I was joking... (that he should be sweating it out in practice 'despite the pain'. ) There could be a million and one legitimate reasons why Shelton was in NKY that day and not in Owenton - shoot, I don't even know that there WAS a practice at that time!

 

I thought the joke was pretty obvious...apparently not to all.

 

If my comment about "shouldn't he be at practice" was what precipitated all this, I apologize. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that it would be taken seriously...

Winning / losing doesn't define one's character or determine one's success in life. But don't read too much into these black and white forum posts. This is like e-mail - with all the relevant shortcomings!

From what I have heard Shelton feet are a serious concern. I have friends in Owenton. If my sources are correct, they say its Tendionitis.... Bill Walton's feet.

Jordan Shelton's uncle got back with me about his foot problems. He told me that he thought that he would play but that he had been seeing a doctor for a foot problem. He wasn't really sure what the problem was but he did know for certain that Jordan had been practicing.

Owen is playing a pretty strong schedule, they just might see somebody with a little more talent than Shelton. That being said he is a nice player and I hope he has a good healthy season.

Those are some pretty strong words.

I'd take Owen over SK right now...but Owen has to prove they can play like a contender against the lesser teams. They spent too much time playing up to - or down to - the level of their opposition last year.

 

They must find a way to keep up with SK, I think they will be very good inside but can they run for 32 minutes. We will find out.

That is good news, whether you like OWEN or not, you definately want a kid to be able to finish what they started. So I wish him good luck and hope the doctors and some therapy can get him healthy.
