If you are referring to the vote in Congress, just enough Dems voted for the measure for it to pass. The majority of Dems did NOT support (via their votes) the measure.

 

In Congress, 147 Dems voted to oppose the Iraq War Resolution (126 in the House, 21 in the Senate), while 111 voted in favor (82 in the House, 29 in the Senate).

 

Only 7 Republicans voted against the measure, compared to 263 were in favor.

As for TBG's question, I don't have a problem with a politician blasting another under many circumstances. If a politician goes into a foreign country and blasts the president on his foreign policy for that country, I would have a major problem with it. I am not thrilled that Palin is blasting Obama in a foreign country, but the DCs offense was on a different level in my eyes.

Because we had 4 digit citizens assassinated in one day, and we chose to respond to it. European nations and citizens were nervous about the reaction, so Maines chose to play off of their sympathy.

This is what happens when people forget the 4 digit assasinations / murder. Sympathy. I am still angry and will be so until the day that I die!

Our response was our action against the Taliban in Afghanistan. Our invasion of Iraq had very little to do with 9/11, except that 9/11 was used to sell it to the American people.
