Bolus never dissapoints. I always disagree heavily with his rankings. This year is no different.

I did not understand why polson kid did not make the list. He was one of the best 3 or 4 players in the Sweet 16. I also would have a hard time putting 15 or 16 players ahead of Miller from Knox Central.

Polson is a fine player. One thing that stuck out to me about him is hes a winner. I would want him on my team if I was a player.

Who is Washington? I haven't heard of him.

I've never taken much stock in Mr. Bolus' rankings. Don't attend his camp = lower rankings. In fairness, he would obviously get to see kids that attend his camps more often than kids who don't.

C, Washington was a reserve for E-town last year. I watched him play at the KBA this summer, good strong kid with alot of heart. He really played well in AAU this summer and landed the offer and commited to Southern Cal.

Out of the 13 seniors mentioned I only remember three Curtis Washington, Jomari Bradshaw, and Sean Samsel being at camp this summer. I would have to check the rosters again but I believe that is close.

This makes sense. I really couldn't see how Washington made such an incredable leap. He is a fine player, but just not the #1. IMO.

Here is a note from the bottom of the Bolus rankings:

 

"Rick Bolus player rankings are based on college potential and are a result of personal observations along with communications with the coaches. Since the rankings are based on college potential, they are not meant to be indicators for Mr. Basketball and other honors. Players can move up or down in rankings over a period of time."

 

I am not defending them just stating that it is not the #1 player now but based on his opinion of college potential.

Could not agree more. Rankings are always subjective and based on someones opinion. Whether it is Bolus or Demling or whomever it is very difficult to see a player enough or talk to enough people to really get an accurate read on any player.

 

That is why recruiting is such an inexact science. Bolus is going to have more info on the kids who attend his camp and it is only good business from a marketing standpoint to include as many campers as possible in his rankings.

 

Doesn't hurt next years enrollment when you can put that on the brochure.

Good point, and in the end, basketball is a TEAM game.

I'm kidding. I am not sure. But like someone else said, this isn't necessarily the best player in the state... soo.. take it for what it's worth, I guess.
