I've not seen a game where 1 call made the difference in the outcome of a game since the boys region basketball tournament at Clay Co., where a foul was called with no time left to put a Clay Co. shooter on the line....

 

 

I think I saw another one on WYMT last night with this game right here...

It was very questionable. Watched it again this morning. These are the ones that hurt.

 

I heard Merida had upwards of 200 yards rushing.

Moses had good numbers.

 

The Williamsburg D is really missing Rollins this year.

Is Root injured? I don't remember hearing his name on the radio friday.

Soph. QB J. Barger was 9-12 180 plus passing-

Junior WR Travis Canady Int for TD and 5 rec. 70yds--

Freshman WR Jeffrey Canady 3 rec. for 108 yds and 2 TD's

 

by the way the fumble in the endzone was not the only BAD calls made friday nite..thier was at least four calls against KNOX Central that cost them 21 pts....but when 4 of the 5 refs. live in Whitley Co. and 2 live in W' burg what can you expect...not to mention their little sideline meetings with Hacker, who's son just so happens to be the D-Cor. for W-burg...just letting you know some more FACTS........................

But, if they were going to take the game, they would have found a way to take it, if your theory holds water. IF the refs were as dirty as you insinuate above, they would have found a way to give the Jackets a win and the call in the endzone would never have held. IF they were calling completely biased (because of the WC/W'burg connections), why did they not just say "fumble" and give the game to the Jackets?:confused:

YEP...KC never did get any breaks with their Canady connection. Again, until there is some accountbility, supervision and training, officiating in this area will overall be BAD. MOST officials don't hustle, know the rules and have NO clue about mechanics.

Back to the game. It was a fun game for fans to watch. I think Wburg grew up alot and KC learned not to overlook anyone. Good luck to both teams and coaching staffs.

Refs miss calls sometimes, they're human. I saw W'burg get away with illegal blocks many times, I saw KC hold recievers. I doubt there was anything deliverate, just a lot of things to watch at the same time. I'm glad I'm not a ref. I will say from my angle on the TD/fumble my angle was bad but the ref was looking right down the line at it from just a few feet away.

 

Central should never have put themselves in that situation. The defense needs to improve before district time.

No, I didn't. From my angle there was no doubt it was a fumble but the ref indicated he had crossed the plane and I couldn't tell one way or another. Since we don't use Instant Replay at the high school level, the call stands and Central was fortunate the ref saw it the way he did. Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you. I always figured these things even out in time, that why I'm normally not to critical of referees. (Except last year's game at Pulaski County of course):lol:

Bad calls happen, and sometimes fans don't agree with really good calls by the officials. But accusations of malfeasance always stink from the odor of poor sportsmanship.

I saw calls I disagreed with. I saw nothing to indicate favoritism.

Before we get caught up in the officiating, I wanted to mention how impressed I was with Williamsburg's effort. By 4th quarter one could see they were exhausted as a result of playing so few players but they fought their heart out. I foresee more wins in their future.

That's what I was wondering. Since I'm a Somerset alum and parent I think you know I'm not a Pulaski fan but there was wayyyyyy more protesting from the Knox Central fans about the officiating in the Pulaski game. I just wondered how they felt about being on the good side of a controversial call.
