Still waiting for Highlands to play a complete game. 3-4 turnovers tonight? Withrow had speed and size but they did not do a good job using it. Almost every pass they throw was east and west to the sidelines they through down field maybe 2-3 times and they probably attempted 40 passes. Highlands and Winton Woods would have been interesting......

 

 

It seems like Winton Woods probably would be a bit much for Highlands.

I agree the birds are not up to where they need to be yet! They did however, overcome 4 turnovers and mutiple 15 yard penalties.

And they're 4-0 to start the season with every win on the road.

I agree the Birds are not firing on all cylinders but it was one of the worst refed games I ever witnessed and I don't like to make excuses or be negative toward the refs but this one was hard to watch. There was one penalty called on Withrow to I don't know how many called on highlands.

That is a potent offense Highlands has over there...I'm glad everyone waited all year to see it. In all seriousness, the people who predicted this to be a 56 to 0 blowout just got a slap. The reality of it is, this team just isn't what they were it's time to get some realistic expectations. Are they going to win most of their games? Yes. (St. X will walk..) But it isn't going to be absolute stomps. There are some Highlands fans (Like LN who predicted that Withrow would come out and be better than most though and the score wouldn't be as bad) who ya'll should take a look at.

And as for expectations, there is no reason to change. This team expects a lot of themselves, as do the fans. Keep working (as if we really needed to tell them that) and you will keep getting better.

Any time a NKY team can get a win in Ohio is great, I take nothing away from the Highlands program however, when you take the Ohio elite teams vs. NKY there really is no comparison. IMHO NKY has the best football in the whole state BUT, Ohio is the cradle of high school football.

Withrow is not one of the elite programs, but a great win from NKY none the less.

I would like to say that the Withrow facilities are AWESOME.

 

Was not expecting the Cincy police to ask us if we would be tailgating and then point us in the direction for a Highlands tailgate.:thumb: Wish I had known that before today.:thumb: Still turned out fine. As I found out during the game from one of the officers, they were completely expecting us to tailgate and hoping that we would.:clap::clap:

 

Also I must say, the Withrow Band was the best pre-game and half time entertainment that I have seen in years. Make that many many years.:clap::clap::clap::clap::dancingpa

Agreed about the band. In fact, they may still be playing. Instead of packing it in for the evening, they continued to play as everyone left the stadium, at least 20 extra minutes.

Highlands had a TD called back at the end and turned it over too many times. Still should have won by 4 TD's.
