September 6, 200917 yr San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of choking and restraining television reality show hostess and model Tila “Tequila” Nguyen, according to deputies. They got the call at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday from a woman who claimed to have been choked and restrained by a male at a home on Sagecrest Drive in Poway. “Nguyen told deputies she had been choked and physically restrained by Merriman when she attempted to leave his residence,” Public Information Officer Jan Caldwell said. The alleged victim signed a citizen's arrest at the scene, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment. link

September 7, 200917 yr The Police station made it look like they were very leary of the arrest. She called for a citizens arrest that the "have" to take serious until proven otherwise. They said there were zero marks etc. Merriman has always seemed like an idiot but I would think that if he decided to choke her little neck that there would be some marks and she wouldn't be able to get him off of her. Always nice to start your opening week this way when there are jobs on the line in SD! Really think they are talented enough to win the Super Bowl but can't seem to put it together.

September 7, 200917 yr The story being told is that Tila was drunk out of her gourd and Merriman was trying to prevent her from departing in her vehicle. Apparently this was a public party and the partygoers say he had acted fine while they were there. The report by Tila was made while she was drunk. I don't think we should prejudge this one until we've heard more.
