Andre Smith breaks foot

Featured Replies

 That's just funny. Not wishing injury on anyone...but it's funny that he held out for so long only to get hurt 48 hours after joining the team.

As a Bengals fan I will say with confidence that none of us are shocked. If anything we are in disbelief that his leg isn't currently being amputated.

As to your post, I think these guys who hold out and miss training camp don't get the same amount of sympathy as others, at least in my eyes.

I wonder if he showed up out of shape to camp?

I wonder if he showed up out of shape to camp?

I honestly thought the same thing, I don't know the details of the injury and how it happened, but did his condition in any way lead to this happening?

It vaguely explained how it happened in the link provided:

During a non-contact drill on Tuesday, Smith suffered a small fracture to his left foot. Smith took part in line drills during the first 30 minutes, which were open to the media. The fracture was not discovered until after practice.

Brandon Phillips was quoted as saying that he's glad its only a broken bone and not a fracture.

It sounds alot like a stress fracture to me from the sounds of this which generally leads me to think that he has been overworking himself and his feet. I'm assuming he has been working out and keeping in game shape during all this time he was holding out.

I'd say it's a lot more than learning the plays and blocking the guy in front of you. It might not be as difficult to grasp as the QB position, but I don't see how it could be as easy as you make it sound either.

I agree it is probably not that easy but I hope a 1st round T wouldn't need to sit out a year before he can contribute.

This team is cursed.

The Bengals can't catch a break ()

It's no more funny than a guy shooting himself in the leg and ruining his football career (in his prime). Well, at least to me it isn't. It's disappointing to lose your first round pick every year, like the Bengals always seem to do.:puke:

The Lord is trying to tell Mike Brown something. But, as usual, he won't listen.

At least Ki-jana Carter and Kenny Irons made it on the field for one play before getting injured. :D

They act like it might just be 3-4 weeks out for the regular season. He is so far behind that might not be a bad thing.
