It does not hurt to have some speed.:thumb:

McMillian and Taylor provide us enough speed to be competitive and TJ ads that toughness that will rub off on these young running backs! I look for the offense you show some things this week. I don't know why but I felt like Coach Larkey still didn't want to tip his hand and once we were down he just wanted to run the same plays. Hard to figure him out sometimes, but he will have them ready no doubt, no doubt in my mind!

Big question mark, but is there anyone even on the team that can throw the ball downfield, except TJ? None that I've seen.

The Bears lost so much speed and explosiveness, experience and overal talent from the 14-16 seniors they had last season. They are stronger this year, but the speed isn't really there, the two juniors who were really good are now sidelined potentially for good due to injuries. The Bears will find their rythm and correct any mistakes. Losing to Southwestern isn't a knock at all, especially considering your defense only gace up 2 scores.

 

How do you get that the defense only gave up 2 scores? Southwestern scored 5 touchdowns, 1 on a kick return. That sounds like 4 scores. The Black Bear defense gave up over 270 rushing yards and allowed 2 100 yard rushers in addition to a 50 yard touchdown pass.

In essence they did give up 4 scores, however, I'm trying to give the defense some credit because on the Punt return, SWP started inside the 8 yard line and on the Int. return SWP started inside the 5 yard line. Take it like you please but I am not selling the defense short on those two.

The Brewer kid whom is a Soph., thorws a nice ball. Maybe it is time to put him in the fire of 5A football.

Even though this is only thr 2cd game, it is crucial for the Bears to have the type of season they want. I'll take the Bears by 3 scores!! A loss hear would be, for lack of a better word, "Bad"!!
