I've watched alot of games at St. Henry, tournament and league, and it seems to me that the officials do a good job. I guess it just depends on whether your team wins or loses.

 

It has nothing to do with winning or losing - the officials there do a poor job all the way around. I should not say it that way, at least they do there more often than ay other places. I have had sons play in the leagues and tournaments there for years, and I have to say that overall, the officials there are the worst. I have been watching boys grade school ball now since 1998. And with 3 boys playing for a parochial school, both "A" team and 'B" teams have seen many, many games. More often than not, of my visits to St Henry I can honestly say I saw games that were poorly officiated. I have seen poorly officiated games in many other venues, but not as frequently as at St Henry.

I don't understand your comment/question. Where did I say I was an official. I am not. I am a parent who has saw a great many grade school games, and one who knows the game of basketball pretty well. I would not consider myself an uneducated parent either, as I knew the book pretty well from my days as a coach.

 

But, if you are asking me again if the officials at St. Henry as a whole do a poor job in comparison to the officials used at other grade school leagues and tournaments - the answer to that is yes

Who is everyone? I've seen many games at SOAS and think they do a great job because I know the game. Most people are uneducated about the rules. They believe they know but really don't. Also the officials aren't from SOAS since SOAS doesn't send officials out. They may referee there but I would imagine they are aligned with an association.

 

So are you implying that I do not know the game? I have played, coached, and watched countless games in my lifetime, and I do know the rules very well. Not sure how you can defend something you did not witness. I am assuming you were not in attendance last night. It was very clear to everyone in attendance at this game last night that the officials were atrocious. This is not one person's opinion here. Furthermore, I know SOAS does not send out referees, I simply meant that these two were regular officials from that facility. Just read my example in a previous post of just one of the gaffes they made last night, how can you defend that horrible oversight? It was also at a critical moment with the game in limbo.

Nice win for the Birds in what sounds like a nailbiter. St. Joes has a strong squad I am sure, last year they played in that Tourney as 7th Graders and did well.

Conner 8th defeated HHS to win the HHS tournament. Score was 49-33. The game was tied 18-18 at halftime. Nice win for the Colts. Very solid team who opens league play @ Newport on Monday evening.

Wow, Conner will want to keep coming back to the HMS tourney as they win for the 2nd year in a row. Looks like Conner put on a show in the 2nd half outscoring the home team 31 to 15.

HHS is Highlands High School so that was a mistake. Highlands Middle school is HMS obviously.

One of my best friends, Elgin Emmons, was the Highlands HS principal. He just retired a couple of years ago. We graduated from Fleming County HS togther (a long time ago). He's a great guy. His wife just passed away a month or so ago.

Conner's two big men make for a very nice tandem. #14-Barker and #20-Lamblez make this a very nice team. They both have nice size, and can run the floor very well. This team is off to a nice 6-1 start.
