Might want to win that starting position first.

I wish the Titans could work a deal with someone, maybe a deal with the chiefs for Tyler Thigpen...

Why would KC do that, they just added Cassell this year.

I did say "wish"

So what is the issue people have with Vince Young's comments? The fact that he said was going to be the next black qb to win a Super Bowl isn't that big of a deal to me. Would it be a big deal if Sanchez said he would be the first Latino Quarterback to win a Super Bowl?

If someone could enlighten me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm shocked that he considers himself a guarantee for the HOF. I couldn't care less what color he is. I think he is a VERY below average NFL QB. I'd be just as shocked and amused if Matt Leinert made this statement.

I still don't see why everyone's gotta be black this or white this, why can't we just drop all that and just say QB, instead of using all the labels.

Maybe because not too long ago their were suck negative connotations about black QB's. Supposedly, black QB's were smart enough or good enough to lead an NFL team to the Super Bowl. Today it's not that way, but really this is the first generation where QB's can be any race, and it started with McNabb, Vick and a few others. The Randall Cunningham's, Rodney Peete's, and Warren Moon's were the exception, not the rule.

I don't think it's a big deal really. Look at most of the HOF QB's, they are probably 90% White I would guess. I see nothing wrong with a player wanting to achieve something that is rare for his race, ethnicity, religion, background, city, state, etc. I have a problem with Young's comments because of the circumstances they came under (as a backup QB), not really the fact that he wants to make a mark as a black QB.

It just gets on my nerves, that's all I'm saying. I don't believe in segregation.

Very funny. :isurrender:

I should've restated that I was only concerned with the HOF statement.

Wow...I can't believe this thread is still going.

At the same time, I see your argument as well. I really wish we didn't refer to anyone by their race, or anything else. People are people.:thumb:
