I can not even believe that you think dancing is some kind of sin in a church. What if the reception was held in the church? Would that be disrespectful? Kids dancing while putting on an event in a church?

 

I mean what about when ministers tell jokes in church?

 

Just trying to get the whole picture of where you stand on things in church.

As to the pastor or congregation, I question their ethics and the level of their faith. JMO.

I agree TrueBlueWildcat. People show their faith to God in many different ways. The only person who you have to worry about thinking it is disrespectful is the Lord Himself. It does not matter if you find it disrespectful or not, it is God's opinion that matters, and we can not argue that.

Within reason. If your way of worshipping/showing your faith is to come into church service dressed in a chicken outfit and clucking as loudly as you can, then you are indeed infringing on other's ability and right to worship. Far-fetched example, but there are some limitations.

Who is anyone here to judge their faith? Isn't that going against christian beliefs? You all know absolutely nothing about these people aside from the fact that the church/minister allowed this and the people involved danced down the isle. They danced for pete's sake :lol:! As far as the comments about disrespectful in God's house, Jesus said where two or more are gathered in His Name, there he would be....so God's house is the local McDonald's, a BGP forum, a bar where Christians are sharing life with unbelievers as Jesus did, a child's sports team's practice or whereever else two Christians may gather in His Name.

 

A church building is just that...a building. It is not a holy place that has some sort of mystical properties over what we make it as humans. It is a building and nothing is there that cannot be in a good Christian thread here on BGP.

Not true. There is Scripture that indicates that if my actions as a CHristian makes someone else sin, than I should refrain from my actions out of Love for the other.

I understand what it means in the bible when it says "do not judge others". It seems a bit hypocritical to judge someone over something like this which IMO is not sinful when all of us do much worse in our lives.

I don't recall any Scriptures that indicate Heaven is a place to seat quietly in a church pew repeat the words that some minister is saying and being reserved and quiet the whole time.

I agree 100%. Growing up in a Catholic church, we were taught not even to speak walking to church and back, and not even to sing too loudly in church to be reverant. It was just taught by society like you said.

This had nothing to do with them having a little fun, I'm cool with that. I have a problem with acting like a fool in church and that was simply foolish behavior for church.
