What part of an opinion are you having trouble understanding?

If you don't understand that a marriage is a form of worship, there's no point discussing it with you. It's a holy union between a man and a woman before God and his people if that helps.

No, I gave my opinion, like you're doing now. So by your standard of judgment you are judging me. Pot meet kettle. :D

I'm disagreeing with your opinion. Not accusing you of being disrespectful towards others when you are obviously not. These people were having a great time on their wedding day. There was no "disrespect" involved. I think some people should stop worrying so much about what others do, especially in cases like this. They did absolutely nothing wrong. Like I said before...I wouldn't have done this just because it's not my style. But if it were my style...I would have no problem at all doing it.

And my marriage comment was supposed to be sarcastic.

A civil union is just that, a civil union.

If you've been paying attention to my posts, you'd know I said as long as it's not in a church, it's fine with me. That includes having a minister, priest, rabbi or what have you present.

Thank God every decision is not made by RTS and we are given freedom to choose things like this in our great country. Freedom is a great thing.

Can't speak for RTS, but no those are not a holy union but of course legally valid. And yes it would be OK to dance and do whatever at those weddings. In fact, if this dance thing had gone on anywhere but a church (in a reception hall, for example), none of us would have commented on its tackiness.

So what you are saying is, God doesn't like people who dance, specifically in a church?

This just seems ridiculous. I think some of you are just saying these things to start a debate. Otherwise I can't fathom anyone actually believing or feeling that way.

I haven't seen much humility in any wedding I've been to. Enjoying what is supposed to be the "happiest day of your life" doesn't seem like a bad thing to me.
Not dancing down the aisle like a fool is showing humility. The dancing part is fine, as long as it's not in a church. After all, isn't that what the reception is all about? Enjoying the "happiest day of your life".

Don't know where you got the idea I was trying to make a decision for anyone. Just voicing MY OPINION, like everyone else in this thread. You know, more of that freedom thing. :D

No, we just believe in respect and reverence in church. I honestly can't imagine anyone having a problem with that. But, to each his own.

"Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD" (Lev. 19:30, 26:2)

Never claimed you couldn't voice your opinion...:idunno:

Call me old school but I think I would have been ready to go if I was at this wedding. The wedding ceremony should have some class and decorum. Dancing to Chris Brown down the aisle to what should be a special moment screams of "look at me look at me."

Perfect for the reception. Classless and 1000% tacky for the wedding ceremony.

:thumb: I give them 6 months. They may not get divorced but I garauntee one will be cheating on the other, and my money is the one who came up with this idea will be the one getting cheated on.

What? You get all of that based on one video? Seriously?

So dressing up in ridiculous, overpriced, clothes that you will only wear once is showing humility?

That's not what you got from it?

My friend, the fact that you accuse me of merely trying to rile people up, and then state things such as, "Thank God every decision is not made by RTS and we are given freedom to choose things like this in our great country. Freedom is a great thing" is all too ironic. I've merely stated my opinion- you are the one employing hyperboles, stating that solely RTS's stated opinion on a discussion board is an attempt at suppressing freedom in the United States.

I would never fathom to know what God "likes" or "dislikes". I don't think that what these people did was even a sin. I just thought it was a poor way to celebrate holy matrimony, especially in what is a house of worship. I believe that we have built churches as places to worship in an appropriate manner, and that I believe that the type of behavior exhibited by this wedding party was inappropriate in what is supposed to be a sacred place of worship. Anywhere else, it would be fine (except for the poor dancing and even worse song choice :D) The entire thing bothers me much less than you would like to think it bothers me- as I've said, I haven't called the bride & groom, the minister, or even commented on their YouTube video. I just mentioned that I found it tacky and inappropriate.

If you think that my posts in this thread were an attempt at riling people up, ask RTS himself (or multiple other posters, especially from P&R) how many times I've PMed him, accusing him of doing exactly what you are accusing me of- I can guarantee that "riling people up" is not my attempt. If the mere statement of one's opinion appears to you as an infringement on freedom in America then perhaps the concept of a message board is unclear to you.
