I heard that initially too. I had to scratch my head on that one. Glad he didn't end up in the deal.

Rolen is a huge upgrade to EE. He is a gold glove 3rd baseman batting 329. He makes more money than EE but Toronto is paying his salary for 09. Watching EE, Rosales and Hairston was painful. We get a middle of the order guy who may provide some much needed leadership. If it is a bust he will be gone after next year. WHats one more year with the Reds. I am just glad they are doing something trade wise.

I always felt like we payed too much for him in St. Louis, mostly because it seemed he spent more time injured than on the field.

So far I think the best move that he's made as a GM is brining in Johnny Gomes. Even that move was tempered by the fact that he left him in Louisville in favor of McDonald. He's not shown me anything to make me think he'll be able to get the Reds turned around any time soon.

The Griffey trade was good to get what seems to be a decent arm for him.

Wasn't he the GM that signed Hairston? That was a good move.

Signing Rhodes was a great move.

Whoever took Alonso instead of Beckham killed them too. A SS that could solve their problems at a position desperately needing help or a 1B to either trade or sit behind Votto? Hum...

I didn't say every move he had made was bad but when your 3 shining examples of his work are signing a utility player, a lefthanded specialist reliever and trading an aging superstar who wasn't wanted in Cincy anymore--well let's just say I wouldn't be making any plans to purchase playoff tickets for awhile.

Pretty much like Dunn plays the outfield. It isn't pretty. He's not a plus fielder where ever you put him.

Blue Jays pay all $4 million this year.
