I can't find the pity because compared to what I had available to me when I was your age, you've got it good, even if you have to share.

Because of Facebook, I've been able to:

Find classmates from high school that I haven't been in touch with for 25 years.

Keep in touch with friends I've made over the years who've moved away. I'm not talking to another part of the region, I'm talking to other parts of the country, and other parts of the world.

I'm able to keep in touch with my son and his fiancee. It's difficult because of their schedules to keep in touch.

I'm able to maintain a relationship with my future daughter-in-law's family, who I've only gotten to meet once, and won't get to see often, as they live in LA

I'm able to keep up with friends I've made through BGP outside of BGP.

I'm able to keep in touch with my family, whom I never see.

And I'm well on my way to being a Mafia Don. :D

MySpace is far inferior to Facebook, IMO. I hate it.

Are college kids the only people for whom social networking is beneficial? Look at it from the perspective of millions and millions of people world wide. Facebook is a good thing for so many because as you grow older, it's much tougher to connect with people who are important to you. Facebook offers that, and I'm thankful.

:lol::lol::lol:

You just won the debate IMO.

Yes, but I don't think that's relevant. What I'm getting at is that, the day my parents (and my friends parents) joined Facebook, it was no longer fun, and continued use has only been out of habit.

The day my parents joined made it funner for me. I am who I am.

I agree with AS. Facebook was created to be a college networking social site. Allowing everyone to join makes it less fun for me.

Since you can control who looks at your page and who are your friends, you can make your own "country club" as big/small as you want it.

Shh! Listen. Listen very quietly.

Hear those little noises? That's your arteries hardening...your hairline receeding...your brain cells dying...your muscles shrinking...your spine crumbling...and your sex drive parking the car.

You're getting old. And there's nothing you can do about it. So stop fighting it and join the club!

You might as well; we're coming for you........

You are good BF! The old fart's have invaded Facebook

I don't care who is on Facebook or Myspace... Just know that I don't play Farm Town, and while I appreciate the fact that you want to donate me things... I don't want them. :D

Amen to that! I don't want a cow or chickens or a scarecrow. I looked at that game one time and nearly lost consciousness.
The likelihood of that is/was very, very small.

No, I honestly do not like all of the other changes Facebook has made. Too much advertising, too many applications and nonsense on there.

And yes, it was a bit like being in a country club and one day the club decided to let anyone and everyone come in and enjoy the facilities.

I do agree I liked it ALOT more when it was for college students.

I'm with you all, I much preferred it when it was only people with valid college email addresses.

And for those of you calling me out about graduation, Bellarmine has never deactivated my email account, so I would still be good. :p
