Glad I'm up for this one. :irked:

It was very sad only getting 3 off Schmidt, they hit everything hard in the first.

When the Reds scored 3 early I said that's all we were getting the rest of the game.

You can consider me a Micah Owings fan & I understand the "he's good for a 5th starter" side of the story, but we need better outings than that. For his sake, his last appearance was what, July 7th?

Let's see what Justin Lehr can do. I had never heard of the guy until this year, but he has having a great year in Louisville & I think was the AAA All-Star Game Starter. 7-1 with a 2.48 ERA in Louisville this season.

Sell the season or Micah?
Owings isn't the problem ... the lack of offense is.

Ironically, Owings could play a role in addressing that ...

I agree, I find it funny you guys continue to blame Dusty for a lot of the problems when he simply isn't playing with a full deck(Of players not in his head :D). Honestly I think he is doing a heck of a job with the make shift lineup he is given.

Hanigan with a great night behind the dish.

I'd listen to everything.

Bruce, Votto, Volquez, Cueto & Bailey are basically untouchable, so don't even bother. Phillips could be thrown into a package somewhere for the right price.

Rhodes and/or Weathers are the two I would actively shop. Try to get a solid shortstop prospect.

Hitting Willy Taveras leadoff all season with a low career OBP for a leadoff man is a heck of a job? Is keeping him there with an OBP below .300 for the season, with Dickerson and an OBP 70 points higher hitting in the lower half of the order?
I've heard Harang and Rhodes for Brandon Wood and 2 pitchers is on the table. This looks like a Jocketty like trade.
Harang would have brought a lot more on the market early last season. I suggested then that the Reds should explore that avenue, but got raked over the coals for it.

If Cincinnati had looked at that option, they might have a better team on the field for it now.

Taveras has some pop. Did you see that triple?

I think it actually might've been a HR. I need to see a replay.

For Cincinnati to win big this year we needed Harang. In hindsight it may have been better, but you can't trade your ace like that & rely on two guys in their 2nd year.

We needed a big FA bat.

The Reds were never going to "win big" this year ... they have too many issues.

Why can't a team trade their ace and improve their future because of it? Other teams do it ... why can't the Reds?

Again, I never claimed that the Reds had to trade him. They simply needed to explore the market for him ... kind of like Toronto is doing now with Halladay.
