Best BBQ in Lexington?

Featured Replies

Where is the best?

Specifically, would anyone recommend/not recommend any of the following: Old KY BBQ, Applecreek BBQ, Corky's, JJ McBrewsters, Sonny's. Or anywhere else.

Thanks in advance.

Corky's and Sonny's are good. The best BBQ sandwich was a Famous Daves, but they went out of business (bad location). I have not tried the others. tony romas has great ribs if it is still in Lexington green.

Tony Roma's has great ribs! Sonny's is very good as well .

Wife and I prefer Corky's, but we tried Sonny's back in March and it was pretty good too. Sonny's has excellent sweet tea by the way.

Love Sonny's. I didn't know that there was one in Lexington!

Billys BBQ in Chevy Chase. Ones you mention don't even compare.

Been there several times, always good.:thumb:

I remember eating at Billy's when it was located in that strip shopping center located behind the bus terminal on the north side.

I didn't know that either. I know there is a Sonny's in Nicholasville and in Richmond.

And I've eaten at both of them. I like the one in Richmond a little bit better.

The Sonny's that I was referring to is in Nicholasville but it's only 11 miles from downtown LEX.

We went to Corky's, which was excellent, but I want to try Billy's.

Thanks.

Shame there isn't a sticky fingerz up this way. One of my favorites! :thumb:

The Sonny's in Richmond is great. When I went they had all you could pulled pork, great sauces, and awesome cornbread.

Tony Roma's has great ribs and chicken and it's over in Lexington Green. I lived in Lexington for 2 years and never heard of Old KY BBQ, Applecreek BBQ, or JJ McBrewsters.

Applecreek is really good IMO. I used to eat there every once in a while when I worked in Lexington.

It's just off Nicholasville Road on Pasadena Drive, for those wondering.

KY BBQ is new, it's located on New Circle near Winchester Road.
