MLB Trading Deadline Countdown (Rumors, updates, etc.)

I would love for the Reds to take a shot at Escobar, but I'm not sure they have what the Braves are looking for.

Escobar has an attitude problem. That is more than likely why they are dealing him. They don't have anybody in the minors they traded Andrus away.

I'd say I'd love for the Reds to land him because I love a player with a little fire. Especially because Dusty isn't exactly a "firey" manager, but I'm afrain we'll end up like the Cubbies with Milton Bradley!:eek:Of course Escobar doesn't have nearly the past Bradley did. Even I could've said that signing was a bad idea.

There is a difference between a player with fire and a player who is just immature. Escobar recently pointed towards the pressbox when he was charged with an error and then stood with his hands on his hips for the next two pitches. That is not playing with fire, that is just being immature.

Had no idea of that, Wow is all I can say. Who cares play the next play. I'm suprised Cox didn't yank him.

I'm thinking he may have been benched. He has not started the last 4 games either.

This is just a growing concern for the Braves. Escobar has great talent but a horrible attitude.

Defense ... at a position that's far less important.

Offense ... at a position with a far higher offensive standard.

Bottom line ... Johnson has turned in two good years but is apparently mired in a slump. Kotchman has yet to turn in a truly good season, and it isn't likely that he will.

Kotchman is playing better right now. KJ has had plenty of time to get out of this season long "slump" he's in. It's not happening.

It is uncalled for and quite shameful but the Braves don't have a solid up and coming 1st baseman in the farm system. Kotchman will be a Brave for the rest of the year in my opinion and in the offseason they could look into trading him.

Freddie Freeman???

Freddie Freeman???

Still not ready and not someone would would be starting by opening day..Would turn out like Schafer.

Also he is now listed as an outfielder.

He is a first baseman...And you also said the Braves dont have an up and coming first baseman in their organization...You are wrong on both parts.

Apparently the Giants are looking for a right handed hitting 1st baseman.

Also some talk that the Blue Jays could be sellers. I don't think Scutaro is readily available, but I'd imagine they have a price for him.

It'd take a lot to acquire Emmanuel Burriss from the Giants, but I wonder if Juan Uribe is an option at SS?
