July 6, 200917 yr Vernon Wells and Alex Rios are apparently on the market for the Bluejays. IF those two can stay healthy they could help somebody. I'd like to see the Reds get Holliday. I think he would be a huge bat in the lineup in GABP.
July 6, 200917 yr Author Onley seems to think the Braves could offer the A's Yunel Escobar for Holliday and Cabrera straight up. ^ I like that but I don't know if either team is interested in trading.
July 6, 200917 yr Author I have heard Escobar to the Royals but not sure who the Braves would get in return.

July 6, 200917 yr Holliday must be getting ready to be traded. Not necessarily ... Oakland needs as many bats as they can get.
July 6, 200917 yr Author Oakland would be crazy not to do it ... Cabrera is close to the end of the line. I think it works out for both parties....Both players could end up TYPE A status and that would mean the Braves pick up 4 draft picks from the A's. Holliday would help the Braves in their quest for the playoffs and Cabrera would be a stop-gap for the rest of the season until the Braves can find a permanent replacement.
July 6, 200917 yr Author Not necessarily ... Oakland needs as many bats as they can get. While it's not a surefire thing I still believe it happens. Some team will probably overpay for him and Oakland will take it!
July 6, 200917 yr Oops ... my bad. I didn't see Holliday's name included in the deal. I wouldn't do it from Oakland's standpoint, considering the two draft picks they can get for Holliday. Escobar isn't worth that.

July 6, 200917 yr Author How in the world would Cabrera end up as a Type A free agent, as bad he's been offensively the last two seasons? True true...I thought that I had read somewhere that his numbers were better and everything. Yeah I doubt he even makes TYPE B status.

Escobar isn't worth that. I'm sure the Braves would probably kick in a lower level minor league player but I believe the trade is just something Onley made up.
July 6, 200917 yr Olney is a pretty well-respected reporter, so I doubt he just made it up. That just may be a rumor making the rounds.
