July 4, 200917 yr .336 doesn't lie....Give him more chances with runners on and he'd do just as good of a job as Ramon That's not a given. He's built that .336 average in the #8 hole. He's got zero power, (only 6 extra base hits this season) so pitchers don't give in to him with the pitcher on deck since he isn't likely to hit the ball out if they make a mistake. If you put him in the middle of the order he's not going to get as many fastballs and you'll see his average dip. He's never been a run producer--his career high in the minors was 56 RBIs. He reminds me a lot of Mike LaValliere who played with the Pirates during the Bonds/Bonilla days. A good defensive catcher who handled the bat well, and actually had a couple of .300 seasons but never had any pop and never drove in over 50 runs in a season.
July 4, 200917 yr This team badly needs to find a shortstop. It is so important. They haven't had stability there is a long time.
