June 29, 200917 yr While interesting to think about, what would UK gain in that series? West Virginia is not historically a recruiting hotbed for UK (exceptions are Patterson and Prickett of late). Other than the appeal of Hugs versus Cal (which is regional only), what would a series like that do for UK in meeting their goals? You forgot about Adam Williams.:sssh:
June 29, 200917 yr I remember when UK/UC had the fast paced game in the 80's (something like 22-14?). Seems like the UK powers-that-were swore off of ever playing a regular season series with them after that. Could the ghost of this game still be interfering? I remember it that way as well.
June 29, 200917 yr As with a UC match-up..... RPI ratings? The Cats will still need that, right? Yes. And that's a good point. My only question would be that higher RPI may be obtained either playing a made for TV game, or playing someone closer to a recruit base UK wants. Good thought though.
June 29, 200917 yr Kentucky will schedule Ohio State long before they schedule Cincinnati... The Kentucky / O$U game is likely to be held in Cincinnati, if that counts for anything.
June 30, 200917 yr I would love to see UK put a game in Cincinnati back on the schedule. The Wildcats played some great games in Cincy. They lost to Dayton, almost were beaten by Ohio U and had a very competitive game (at least for awhile) against Texas Tech. The UK game at U.S. Bank Arena was a great event.
June 30, 200917 yr US Bank is very close to doing a 20-30 million dollar upgrade geared towards making the place a relevant basketball facility. Look for a lot more high profile games there after this next season...
June 30, 200917 yr I don't think UK liked the game in Cincy, wouldn't they rather play another home game and the opponent may like the thrill of Rupp more.
